Deadlifts stalling.. Don't feel like I'm under recovered so need to get more pulling volume. PCs not high enough to be helpful but getting chins in should help I hope. If not might look to add some back offs, or move to 3x2 instead of 5x1

    Saturday 1st March
    Light squat - 20kg x 5; 60kg x 5 x 2; 100kg x 3; 130kg x 2; 150kg x 5 x 2 @ 6 - used wrist wraps and changed to thumbs around grip as per Tom N's POV. Definitely closer grip and tighter, looking forward to trying on heavy sets.
    Bench Press - 20kg x 5; 60kg x 5; 80kg x 3; 100kg x 1; 113.5kg x 5 x 3 @ 9, 9.5, 9.5 - wrist wraps and belted. Felt much more solid. Still tough but hope I can squeeze a bit more out before moving to 3x3.
    Deadlift - 60kg x 5 x 2; 100kg x 3; 140kg x 2; 180kg x 1; 205kg x 4 @ 10 - missed 5th rep again. Got it halfway but couldn't shift it. Lost form / bar position through the set which didn't help. Will try again next week but may need to move to 3x2 instead.

    Mrs H's session:
    Squat - 25kg x 5 x 3 - easy, definitely more in the tank
    Bench Press - 20kg x 5 x 3
    Deadlift - 45kg x 5

Tough session last night. Think a few things made it hard, not least drinking far too much / not getting enough sleep on Saturday night. Still got some work done though.

    Monday 3rd March:
Squat - 20kg x 5; 60kg x 5 x 2; 100kg x 3; 140kg x 2; 170kg x 1; 192.5kg x 5 x 3 @ 9.5-10 - PR for 5 and across. Had been worried I was cutting off too high so got some video which confirmed I was slightly too high in the first set. Focused on burying the second and hit the wall on the 5th rep which was super high. 3rd set was fine but tough. Will move to 195kg on Thursday but make sure every rep is deep.
Power Clean - 20kg x 5; 60kg x 3; 70kg x 3; 75kg x 3; 80kg x 3 x 2 - rubbish. Was planning to go 85kg x 3 and 90kg x 3 but my form was so bad on 80kg that I did one more set and cut it. I think I'm going to forget about cleans as I'm too far from being able to use them to drive my deadlifts given how light they are at the moment. Going to start using some other pulling variants instead - stiff leg deadlifts, haltings, good mornings.
Banded chin ups - BW (123kg) with 5-36kg band - 4,3,3,3,2 @ 10 each with 2-3 mins rest. Work in progress.

Yesterday officially saw the end of my LP. I've decided to move to intermediate programming as of this week. Spending all week intimidated by your upcoming squat session is no way to live.

Goodbye LP - we were great together at first, but lately you just got too demanding, always asking for more and never satisfied. It's time for me to find a new programme that appreciates me more. Let's remember the good times, and maybe I'll see you again one day.

    Sunday 9th March
Squat: 20kg x 5; 60kg x 5 x 2; 100kg x 3; 140kg x 2; 170kg x 1; 195kg x 5 x 3 @ 9,9.5,10 - PR for 5 and across. Belt + wrist wraps. Thumbs around. Made sure these were all deep, and they were tough but solid other than a couple of wobbly reps. Took 8-10 minutes between sets. Need to remember that it is six days since I last trained, so I'm practically on weekly progression already.. When I started this process I had no concept that I could get this far on my squats. I'm excited to see where weekly programming can take me.

Bench Press: 20kg x ??; 60kg x 5; 80kg x 3; 100kg x 1; 115kg x 5,5,4 @ 9,10,10 - PR for 5. Belt + wrist wraps. Wide grip, not paused. Failed last rep of last set. Was taking 6-8 mins between sets (damn workout was just taking too long). Looking forward to separating volume and intensity for bench.

Fried there so called it a day.

Going to move to Andy's version of Texas Method for Powerlifting, from PPST3. 10 weeks until my next meet. Will write up details in a separate post, and start a new log in the competitive lifter section.
