    Welp, after some great progress I'm back in the trough of despair. Got hit with a ton of work travel, a nasty cold, and no sleep as a result. The net result is a pretty substantial loss of strength.

    Tue Nov 8 (at Equinox 53rd Street)
    Not a bad gym, obviously clean, and had 3 racks. Even a platform upstairs. I loaded up on Advil and Tylenol and turned in a decent effort:
    Squat 360x3, 345x5, 330x5
    Bench 230x3, 225x3, 215x3, 205x5; this was utter shit, nowhere near strong enough for fives
    Deadlift 430x4, 405x5; should have gutted out a fifth rep at 430 but didn't seem to have it in me.

    skipped light day and tried to sleep it off...

    Sat Nov 12
    Coughing significantly and running a slight fever...
    Squat 335x5, 325x5, 315x5; form terrible & over the place; no tightness in the hole (hehe)
    Pres 135x5x3; this felt heavy

    Tue, Nov 15
    Squat 315x5x3; this felt heavy but I fixed form I think
    Bench 225x3, 205x5x2; just trying to maintain


    I'll treat it like a reset... fuck it

    Squat (light) 225x5, 230x5
    Press 140x5x3; heavy on last reps
    Deadlift 405x5 (alternate grip), 315x5 (double overhand); slight reset here as well

    Sat, Nov 19
    Squat 325x5x3; felt good, I think I'm back! Will shoot for 335 on Tuesday to ramp back up.
    Bench 220x5,3 215x4x2; not so much.
    Chins BWx6,5,5

    The net of this is that the illness and accumulated fatigue set me back about 30-40lbs on the squat, 10-20 on the bench & press, and about 25lbs on the deadlift. Basically a 10% deload, worst-case.

    Did some quick LP analysis before I got wallopped and had to reset. I'm pissed because I was really hitting some good 5x3 PRs and seemed on my way to GainzZzville, Florida.

    Duration: 9 weeks

    Squat: 285 --> 360 New PRs: 360x3, 355x5 (previous PRs: 365x1, 345x3)
    Bench: 190 --> 230 New PRs: none
    Deadlift: 365 --> 430 New PRs: none
    Press: 125 --> 155 New PRs: none

    [B]Deadlift[B] 365x5x1 (alternate grip); thought I would try accelerating pace on the deadlift by doing it 1 workout early. No dice. Did a 'light' version instead.

    Squat (light) 235x5x2
    Bench 220x5x2, 215x4, 205x4
    +some curls & dips

    Sat Nov 26
    Squat 340x5x3; I'd say about RPE9. Felt pretty good.
    Press 150x5,5,4f; 135x4; Pretty pleased to be back at 150 for fahves. Every fifth rep was a grinder, and thus I failed the very last rep on the way up.

    Press 155x5,4(f); 150x5, 145x4; not bad, bit extra layback was undesirable, but not bad
    Deadlift 425x5 (alternate grip), 335x5 (overhand); easy peasy

    starting strength coach development program
    Sat Dec 3
    came down with a bad cough last couple of days but no ill-effects workout wise
    Squat 350x5x3; probably had a rep in the tank on each set, quite pleased
    Bench 225x5; only time for a single before I had to head out.

    Subsequently on Sunday, got fully sick with a fever. Might move Tueday's workout by a day to add in recovery.
