    You can do different programs for different lifts - different lifts evolve at a different pace for everyone. Sometimes you can squeeze a bit more out of LP by increasing reps instead of weight etc ... maybe just start with a light day once in a while before you go "whole hog" on TM?

    I've seen people switching their squat and dead to TM programming and keeping their pressing movements on LP. You're right about playing it by ear and going lighter on the squats if you know you're not going to get the heavy set. I'm not going to start TM straight after LP anyway as I want to do a cut to get leaner.

    I was able to get a few extra weeks out of my squat LP by switching to 3 x 3. I found it much easier to add weight and lower the reps (3 x 3) on pressing movements instead of trying to up the reps. On the press and bench if you run 3 x 3 for a while and stall you can re set and get 5 reps at the weight were you previously only got 3.

    Workout A (9th June 2014)

    Deadlift
    1 x 5 x 155kg (341lbs)

    Bench Press
    1 x 4 x 85kg (187lbs)
    1 x 5 x 85kg (187lbs)
    1 x 3 x 85kg (187lbs) [PR]

    Chinups
    3 x 5 x BW + 5kg (11lbs)

    Bodyweight = 204lbs

    Deadlift was hard but manageable. Really hoping I can eek out another 5kg increase next week.

    Bench press has always been ****e for me. It's a bit strange how I got 4/5/3 but whatever I'll try again next time.

    In general I need to have a day to work on form on all my lifts. Not that there's anything glaring but it's always good to fine tune a bit.

    Workout B (11th July 2014)

    Squat
    3 x 5 x 127.5kg (281lbs)

    Press
    2 x 5 x 64kg (141lbs)
    1 x 4 x 64kg (141lbs) [PR] I really should've got that last rep. Form form form

    Chinups
    2 x 5 x BW + 5kg (11lbs)
    1 x 4 x BW + 5kg (11lbs)

    Curls
    1 x 8 x 40kg (90lbs)
    1 x 9 x 40kg (90lbs)
    1 x 7 x 40kg (90lbs)
    1 x 9 x 37.5kg (85lbs)

    Bodyweight = 205lbs

    I had to use a different gym today due to time constraints. It was a refreshing change. Deloaded the squat and working my way back up for the fourth time. They felt pretty easy which is a good sign.

    I have my suspicions about the weight difference of barbell and plates at the gym I used today and one I usually use as I done a lot better in my press than last time. Maybe I just got stronger who knows. Annoyed I didn't get the last rep. I should have got it but will redo the weight next week to make sure.

    Before going to TM look at Advanced Novice. Basically your 2nd WO of the week is a light SQs day, usually 80% of your Monday weight. Everything else stays the same.

    You are still adding 10lbs per week, and it will usually carry you for another 6-8 weeks.

    I've been doing advanced novice for a good while now. A lot of the time I don't even squat on Wednesday and just do deadlifts and a pressing movement. Squat gains seem to be petering out now even with the light day. Just want to ride out LP on the bench/press/deadlift then will probably so something else.

    Oops, missed that in your log. May be time to put SQs on TM, then.

    No worries mate. Yeah maybe. Think I'll just ride out LP on everything else and then switch to TM though.
