as a lifter you have to deal with the environment, chaos, lack of room to warm up etc. Also, only experience can teach you how to judge when to warmup, eat, etc.
The more Levi compete the better prepared he will be and the conditions will not be so distracting.
Its a good idea to have a meet coach. Someone who knows you well. I always have 2 game plans for attempts, all my warm ups and attempts are listed before I arrive. I give them to my buddy Jim. We talk about the what ifs ahead so we know how we are going to handle things.
