    Default Unoriginally Named SS Log

    • starting strength seminar august 2024
    Decided to put this down where I could see it better. I started with a paper log, a few days got lost so I moved to logging in an app called "Strong". I like the app, but can't really see my log progress very well there so thought I would do it here as well. I apologize for all the posts together.

    Monday 7/14/14
    Day 1

    Light day. The other couple of times I lifted weights I tried to do too much and ended up so sore I could barely move for 3 days. Decided I'm old and to just start out trying to work on form first.

    Gym is pretty bare bones, no bumpers, lifting platform and a crappy squat rack. All our bars suck, one is pretty bent and they are so old that the knurling is worn on most of them.

    Squat 1 x 5 x 105
    Press 1 x 5 x 55
    DL 1 x 5 x 65

    Total Weight Lifted (including warm up) 4975
    Total Reps 85

    Worried about bench. Microloaded. No problem with 127

    It is a long time before I can actually do a chin. Until I update that, they are all "assisted", meaning I push up from the ground with my feet to help out.

    Press was hard. Power cleans were a mess, very poor form, didn't know what we were doing.
