What's your reasoning?
I think its probably a good idea as well.
I was thinking couple of sets of light squats before Fridays dead lifting. Something like 2-3x5 @80% of my 5x5 weights. For warm up and keeping the movement fresh?

Yup that makes sense. I am also turning into a creaky fuck as I age.
my plan had been to do some light ish squatting before deadlifts.

yeah they are bullshit....I got my ass chewed by some DEL trainer about banging the weights last week. I don't want any trouble ha ha. I know I would have had it off the floor though so im going to count it.
I think next Friday ill work on setting the shit down more controlled and say fuck the pads.

Ya it was a female trainer....she was a real bitch about it too. She tolerates the chalk at least. I'm just going to go back to no pads and soft as a feather landing on a kittens nose set 400+ lbs on the ground.
I feel dirty pulling off those pads I mean its only an inch but still. I'm still calling it pr cause I know I would have had it inch or not

actual percentage for todays lifts was approximately 78%.

not really feeling it today. Did squats yesterday and usually have a day in between squats and press. Weather is gloomy as fuck that probably doesn't help.

not sure what happened today. Could be a recovery issue. This is my third workout in a row this week. Had to alter schedule
felt stale as fuck yesterday during press. I could have probably ground those failed reps out but the way my lower back felt I feel like I made the right decision to fail the reps. Just not my day I guess. I think 2 days between 5x5 squats and deads is needed. Thats the only thing different this week.

notes:bench felt heavy. No risk of failing reps just hard. Not really feeling it today.
chins felt strong. Got some light pulling volume in today since I won't be dead lifting Friday due to moving. Worked on not doing the starfish on my catch. Faced away from mirror and narrowed stance this helped a bit.
