Thanks, man. It wasn't all that long ago (2.5 months) I failed on the first rep of a single 265 ... and sumo at that. So hitting conventional 5x5 with relative ease feels nice.

I like my gym. I rarely have to wait to get onto a platform, tons (literally) of bumpers and steel plates, etc ...

But man ... there are times I hate that the weights are on the second floor.

Upper B - built around the press.

    Total volume 16,000

OHP (strict followed by push) - 4x10x115
    OHP (strict-only) - 4x10x65
Neutral grip pull down - 4x10x100
    Upright DB row - 4x12x25(each)
    + (SS)
    Skullcrusher - 4x12x50

The press is just ridiculously difficult.

The rest are challenging but I push through them.

Met with my coach today - probably only one more session before he moves to Florida.

    Yoke Walks - 4x60' 510lbs (+100 PR)
    Sand bag carry and load - 3 bags (120x25', 150x15', 170x5') loaded over a 50" bar - 3x
    Anchor Pulls - 540lbs (sled+plates @ 315# and coach @ 215# standing on it) - 60' x 2

The yoke walk was difficult but I've got some more in the tank. The offer to go to 575 was made (this is the NC Strongman HW novice starting weight) but my back was saying "Nah, man. Let's just be happy with this."

The sandbag carry/load was quite intense for 30 seconds at a time. (actually 30, 33 and 43 ... the last set the 150 bag was too close to the wall and I spent about 6 seconds fighting with bad positioning)

The anchor pulls are basically every leg exercise combined into one grueling 45 second pull. The first 30 feet are easy. The next 30 feel like your legs are on fire.

Man, look at you now. A few months ago you hadn't lifted anything and now you are doing serious strongman stuff. You need a new log title.

I'll second this. There is zero chance you are that fat weak guy at the gym. Worst case scenario you are that fat strong dude at the gym. Fat and strong beats fat and weak ALL DAY.

    starting strength coach development program
New log as suggested ... Bubbafat's novice strongman training log

Since I'm not doing SS or TM, and I'm not a competitive lifter, I posted in "General Training Logs".

    Thanks for the push, guys.
