I wouldn't last 2 weeks drinking and sleeping the way you do Bingley. Definitely not with the training on top of that.

that was only a bottle of wine each (sorry if my creative diction made it seem even sillier than it was lol) so no, but certainly a PR on a gym day...

so i was traveling last week to a conference in Austin and i didn't bring my belt/shoes because i really didn't know what the hotel would have (and I knew I didn't have the time to find a real gym off-site. the marriott's gym actually had a squat rack, so at 5:45am after a rather late night I found myself there. as i didn't have my belt i wasn't comfortable going over 235, and i got a few comments from industry colleagues about how professional I looked squatting in my birkenstocks lol. but thank god i was able to get some lifting in.

well tonight will be an interesting session. as i've said, i'm trying to get myself on a somewhat planned HLM thingy with DL-ing only once per week and trying to get a tad more sleep. Due to work/travel this past week my M session was somewhat abbreviated and at a lower weight than scheduled and I also missed my H session. Tonight I'm going to try and pretend that didn't happen, and do my L session at the levels I would have done had I done everything else: 255 for 2 sets of 5 on the squat and 355 for hopefully 2 reps on the dl. And then do the M session as planned and the H session next sunday as if i had done it this week. since i'm still 40ish pounds below my pr for reps on the squat i should be ok.

    we shall see

i'm proud to say that after spending 4 days in Austin at a convention my body weight has hit a PR of 229! Yeah baby! at least i'm doing one part of The Program

I like this "skip the heavy day" programing...squats all felt good, and the deads were funny: on the last rep at 310 I switched to alt from doh just to get the left arm ready for 355. that 1 rep at 310 was more of a grind than it should have been, and i thought 'oh shit, 355 ain't happening'. but lo and behold 5 minutes later the 2 reps at 355 went up pretty easily...and i frankly think i had a 3rd in my pocket. woohoo, i love good days at the gym!
