    good question, yep, i get it a couple inches off the floor and then i mentally bail; i mean it's a heavy weight but i am convinced it's totally between my ears. i'm seriously considering just skipping it and trying 390 next week; it will probably fly up lol

    could be...i think i will do some rack pulls and see if they help

    It's worth a try. A good thing with rack pulls is that you will use heavier weights. So when you are going for a new deadlift PR the weight on the bar isn't so intimidating, since you've already done that weight when doing rack pulls.

    that's exactly what i was thinking, much how long before i ever squatted 315 i walked it out a few times just to get the feel

    sq 45 1x10, 135 1x5, 225 1x5, 265 1x5, 295 3x5
    rack pulls: 225 1x5, 315 1x5, 385 1x2

    yep, i think these rack pulls are going to help a lot, the 385 wasn't really that hard, so i will bump it up even higher next time. only downside is there's only 1 rack in the gym i can pull on, so i's not something i can expect to do when i want but it will definitely go in the rotation now
