Haltings are recommended by people with more experience than me, as are deficits, and pausing deadlifts an inch off the floor before finishing the lift.
A backoff deadlift set might work too for more volume.

I don't know which variation is best. I've only gotten 375x2x2 on deadlifts using just deadlifts.
I haven't done rack pull/haltings long enough for it to work yet, due to too many missed sessions.
i used to do paused so maybe i will work those back in too.

pf course, that was when i deadlifted every single time at the gym (i am in a deadlift addict recovery program) and that was just way too much for this old bod lol

I'm happy for this discussion on Deadlifts. I shall try some of these techniques. Who knows, maybe they will help me.

Not to hijack your log, but Snatch Grip Deadlifts with a 36" hand spacing have played a huge part in my Deadlifting success.

Does snatch grip DL vs deficit DL cause any different geometries besides arm position?
Seems like they might be very similar, except no extra gear needed for snatch grip.

The Snatch Grip Deadlift is the King of Deadlift variations. The entire upper back is worked in a way that has to be felt to be appreciated.
Due to the grip angle, straps will be needed with heavier weights. I also widen my stance a bit for a better starting position.
If I could only do one exercise the rest of my life, it would be Snatch Grip Deadlifts. You wont regret adding them to the mix.

It's not unusual for my thought progression to go something like this: "It's only 5 more lbs, surely you can do 1...and if you can do 1 you can do 3...and you've done 3 so just finish the set!"

    Keep climbing the mountain.
