not for lack of grip though. You'll get it, probably before I hook grip the same weight.

I can do DOH grip deads at 140 kg, but it's more of a monkey grip, really.
I've stopped doing hook grip, since I'm not into self abuse.
Alternate grip works for me when it gets really heavy.

somewhere during the squats got a muscle tweak sort of at the bottom rib on the left side; it may have in fact been the belt being tight at the wrong spot at the wrong time. anyhow not perhaps a bad thing as it made me not do quite as many paused dead lifts as i might have been tempted to...man they are killers

I meant for sets. I dunno what my DOH single is. I think I've pulled 365 DOH for a double or triple.

Honestly, for general training purposes, a lot of folks would be better running DOH to failure and swapping to straps. I'm still not compelled by the hook grip argument. At some point I want my back as strong as possible, and leaving the grip as the weakest link limits that. For grip work, grippers work better. [/soapbox]
Thanks! But you should have heard Adam yell at me for the little swoopy hips at the start of that pull lol

When I lifted years ago I loved my straps for the heaviest set. (Never tried hook grip though.)

due to some rib soreness and lots of work travel this was the first trip back to the gym in two weeks so i figured it would be best to have a slight reset of my reset. sq felt heavy, due in part to a crappy bar, but last set felt ok. deads were a problem but only because I had a huge lunch with a client at work and at 275 i felt as close to hurling as i ever have, so discretion said let's back off and at least get a little volume work done at 225. Ks were rushed. oh well, very glad to get back in the saddle.

DUDE! Almost thought we'd lost another one (referring to logs that just ... stop). Good to see you back. Saddle up.

Glad to see you -- I was just thinking of texting you to see how your marathon training was going.
