everything felt pretty good. made the mistake of eating a big pork roll sammich about 30 minutes before going to the gym...ho nellie it *almost* was Hurl City on the deads at 315 so i cut the set short lol
but hey, pork roll takes precedence

That's just part of the game.
I usually try to make it an hour between eating and lifting, a bit like we were told back when we were kids, "wait an hour after eating before going swimming".
