I am 28 years old a novice with Starting Strength. I have weak knees and used to be active as a child. I had just gotten back into exercise again by running. It was kiiling my knees and I was not getting the results I wanted. (Obviously) My husband began Starting Strength and he kept sending me different videos and articles suggesting that I watch/read them. He had bought the books and everyday would ask me if I had read them yet. A couple of my main concerns with lifting were my knees and bulking up. I finally gave in and excited to begin my training. We decided to do it together and he has been my rock and a great training partner.

    Squat:
    45x5x2
    65x5
    80x5x3 W

    Overhead Press:
    30x5x2
    40x5
    50x5x3 W
Note: Had issues with balance and wrists. Started my work set to heavy at first and adjusted the weight. Work set 1- After I had adjusted the weight, it went really well. Work set 2- Dropped the bar on the 4th rep. Work set 3- Lost balance on the 4th rep and did 6 total reps. Were there issues because I started too heavy to begin with? The gym I go to didn't have a 15 lb bar which is what I started with last time. The lightest bar they had was 30 lb.

    Dead Lift:
    115x5x2
    135x5

    Squat:
    115x5x3 PR Woohoo!

    Press:
    Goal was to do 65x5x3.
The first two sets I only got 2 reps. Backed the weight down to 60 and did 60x4 and 60x5. Frustrating couple of workouts with the different presses. Help! Thoughts on what I can do for this issue?

    Squat:
    120x5x3 PR Woohoo

    Bench:
    75x5x3
Repeated the weight since I had so much difficulty last time. I destroyed the weights... It was hard, but I managed to do it and I feel so happy about it. I am still worried about the next time I go to do either the bench or overhead presses.

    Dead Lift:
    180x5
