Do you find chiropractors helpful? I never have.

    Monday 11/6/2023
    warmups
    SLDL 135x5

    Press with arc 42x10,10

    Rack Pull 185x1 225x1 245x3

Airdyne 5.0 Miles, (been doing 1 mile between sets for the last couple weeks, typically so far 4.0 miles per session)

Decided to change things up a bit. Wasn't getting full ROM on the press, do took the weight down and reps up.

Finished Outlive (Dr Peter Attia). Similar in tone to the Barbell Prescription, but not as good on a number of levels.
It is situationally useful, probably a better "reference tool" than book. But, I am glad I read it.

Carson: Chiropractors are more artists than scientists. They vary greatly. I have been to dozens, you get to be "picky".
Sort of like a good SS coach sees movement patterns well, you need a chiro that sees your movement pattern well and makes accurate adjustments.
I don't recommend chiropractors "in general", only in specific. For every one I would recommend there are 3 or 4 I'm not sure I would.
It is both a skill and a practice. I consider myself lucky to have found 3 or4 worthy of recommendation.

Your best bet is talk to people who have similar issues, and are in as similar a physical state as possible. If they have a chiro they like, that would be worth a try.
My current chiro was recommended by a neighbor, I was skeptical because she was a "surgery of the month club" member that had every malady that was popular in the
news. But she had moved off of him, for no doubt a more trendy pick.

Good information is hard to find in this area. Trust your judgement. If I had similar access to Sully, I'd probably just listen to him.

Another thing I employ heavily is Rip's shoulder surgery recover video. A guy with your handy man skills could easily figure out a way to set something like that up at home. Doesn't need to be terribly heavy so some 1" black pipe (like for natural gas), some plates, and some motorcycle straps and you're in business. (obviously need a strong enough high attach point)

Good luck. Rip's 45 minute video is worth watching several times. I have.

Thanks. I'm glad that your efforts pay off. I wish we still lived in the Chicago area but then I would not have regular access to Sully. I finally will be in an impromptu competition on Nov. 25 in Lansing. It's a deadlift competition to help John Claassen celebrate his 97th birthday. He plans to compete as well.

    warmups
    SLDL 135x5

    Press with arc 42x10,10

Bench 45x10,10 Still don't have full range of motion. Bring the bar down to about my forehead (not my chin).

    I'll keep at it.

Been doing this about every other day.

Also now doing 10 min or nortic track with workout. And one 10 min in evening.

Off days I plan 2 10 Min sessions which I will ramp up as I can.

It's good to see another report from you and that you are rehabbing.

    starting strength coach development program
    Monday 12/11/2023
    warmups
    deadlift 135x5

Press with arc 22x10,10 full range of motion... first time

Nortic Trak (between sets) 2 min, 2 min, 2 min

Should have gone lighter sooner on the press.
But I'll go back to my "normal" 6, 1 lift per day schedule, we'll try every other day to avoid unpleasantness.
currently quite disappointed with my loss of strength during the botched rehab.
But this is what the program is good at, taking rank untrained and getting them reasonably strong.
