Mr Bingley: Yes it was! A good covered frying pan works as well. In fact, both salmon and Costco hamburgers with rice for the last two minutes is great with rice and costco "spreadable" butter and olive oil.

Nice work Cheesepuff, I know how hard it is to keep at it when you have pain, family commitments and Christmas too. I'm trying my best to keep up some sort of training schedule myself. I guess a day or two late is better than never!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

    12/25/2024
    Airdyne 32 min
Caught what my granddaughter had, when my daughter got it she tested positive for the "dreaded" covid virus.
Vitamin I for my wife and I FTW.
I also got lots of rest, antihistamines and sinus soother tea 24x7.
Ended up shaking it in about two days.

    Airdyne 90 min
    Split squats 50#x 5,5,5,5
    Dead Lift 135x5 185x4

Out of the woods on covid, for me anyway.

    My cunning plan:
Time to get my dead lift up to more respectable numbers. (perhaps less horrific is a more accurate usage lol)
bw for 5 seems a good start, which is only 70# away.
Real squats are an issue. the split squats are more of a remedial weighted stretch, which has done me a lot of good.
Perhaps a jump up to 70# is in order. My hamstrings are too tight and my range of motion is notably bad. This is helping.
I'll DL 2x per week, and split squat almost daily. Some days off are inevitable due to travel and recovery.
Pretty sure I understand those weird tweaks I've been getting.
Down to 254 which is good.

    130 min Airdyne
Split Squat 70#x5,5,5 hoping to transition to real squats in a couple more cycles, major symptoms are gone
Press with arc 72#x5,5,5 lt shoulder still twingy but a lot less limited
    bw: 250

Have gone keto. (keto as in no booze). Thick sliced bacon is a reasonable substitute for booze.

Taking a 2 year old to a water park looks to be more fun around 200 than a very ROUND 250.

Airdyne 130 min (aka not 90)
    Split Squat 70x5,5,5
    Press w/arc 72x5,5,5

    Airdyne 100 min (aka 1:40)

    1/15/2025
    Airdyne 80 min
    Press w/arc 72x5x5x5

BW: 247 (losing a pound on a good day)
Shoulder quite a bit better. Hip coming along.

Thanks Mr. Bingley, I've heard that it loses some flavor if you bake it in the oven as opposed to pan frying. But I do like to make big batches, then bag it in the frig as a snack. Any bacon experts care to weigh in? I can only make 8 half slices at a time in my frying pan. So four sessions of about 10 min each. In the same amount of time I could make them all on a cookie sheet in the oven, with far less fussing.
