So far I'm a fan. Note that this is my first time through these weights. But I've never Dead Lifted every session through these weights.
I'd say I'm recovering great. Probably have to back off on the dead lifts when I approach PR for reps range.

Opinion: I think not being recovered (bad sleep, bad things in life etc) has caused me to be inconsistent. On day 4, I am "ready to lift". Which helps with getting started for me.
Of course, I'm 66 (67 in May), so age does factor into this.

After "re hearing" Rip's description of his logs / motivation of his clients, I also started drawing a grid on my paper log.
The first column is the movement.
Second column (and other 6) are the date and weights / reps for the day.
You can look across the page to see progress. This may also be a factor in my "happiness with the 4 day splits".

FWIW, I kept a paper log for a few decades that I schlepped back and forth to the gym after printing it out from my laptop Excel spreadsheet. Now I just keep one on my phone in the Sheets app. Since I always have my phone with me it's one less thing to carry along.

    12/11/2020 Friday + 4 days

    Bench 45x5 115x1 151x5x3 +0
    Squat 45x3 135x1 190x3x3 +5
    Dead 135x3 185x1 255x3 +5

    Very happy with these lifts.

    Win Hof stuff.
    Almost done with book.
For those who can't separate "art from artist" forget it.
However, 5 days in, I "FEEL" like I'm recovering better.
As we know, if feelings were accurate RPE would be great.
So, I'll give it some time and let the weight on the bar "weigh in".
I'm approaching the lifts where things have historically gone sideways for me.
Win Hof is the cold showers and breathing exercises guy who routinely spends hours in ice water
to demonstrate.... something. The side effect of his method that interests me the most is reduced inflammation.
So far, seems great but could be placebo. I have a feeling the iron won't lie to me.

PizzaDad: Yeah, one look in the mirror and I have to conclude I need more calories. LOL.

Mr Bingley: My problem with extra rest is one become 2 becomes 3... where'd that month go
