    12/29/2020 Tuesday +4 days
Garage 42F, much more comfortable doing Wim Hof, LOL. No hat or sweatshirt.

    Bench 45x5 115x5 153x5x3 +1 (turns out I did 165x5x3 in 19)
    Squat 95x3 135x3 185x1 210x3x3 +5
    Dead 135x3 225x1 262x3 +2 (265x5 in 19)

Was glad to be back at my home rack, but would welcome my nephew's company for the lift.

Wim Hof Method continues to impress. I feel PR's coming.
That's why I went digging through my logs for my "reps pr's"

Last workout of 2020. See 2020 as a wasted opportunity to get stronger.
But at least I have wandered into PR territory.

    1/4/2021 Monday - Tuesday
    40F and 44F in garage

Interrupted on Monday with family situation after second press workset

    Press 42x5 104x5x2 .... oops

    Tuesday
    Squat 95x3 135x3 185x1 215x3x3
    Dead 135x3 225x1 264x3

Daughter had to run off out of state to pick up son-in-law from an ER visit.
He'll be ok. May not be snowboarding as much.

    Distance to "for reps" PR's
Dead within 1 pound of PR for reps
    Squat is further off 235 - 215 = 20
    Press 107 - 104 = 3

Nothing felt heavy. Liking the Wim Hof stuff.

1/8/2021 Friday + 3 from squats and deads... yeah a day early

Bench 45x5 116x5 154x3x3x3 yeah a misload on second lift... for no apparent reason

Squat 95x3 135x3 185x1 220x3 Then all the juice was gone, several minor tweaks on last set, called it

    Dead plan to do tomorrow

So with Wim Hof breathing and cold exposure I've been "feeling like" I could go a day or two early.
This is what you get for thinking with your feelings.

    Carson's book not in yet.
In retrospect this session goes a lot better with the programed 4 days between workouts.

1/17/2021 +19 long story, not interesting, I'll spare you

Press 42x5 104x5x3 repeated last successful
    Squat 95x3 135x1 185x1 215x3,0 Got wobbly, pussyed out.
    Dead 135x3 225x1 265x0 broke ground 6" 245x3

    44F in garage.
I know what Rip would say, and he'd be right.
265 dead is my PR for reps. This could have gone better... but it didn't.
    Consistency matters.

    1/22/2021 Friday
36F in garage, thank God for the Wim Hof stuff
Worst part was putting on cold lifting shoes. LOL.

    Bench 115x5 155x5x3
    Squat 135x2 185x1 215x5x3

I haven't been getting my workouts in on time.
Oddly job and other commitments are making it harder to fit in 1.5 to 2.0 hour span in the garage.
Considering lifting every 3 days instead of 4, alternating the above with Press / Dead.
Also considering a fixed 2 day a week schedule.
On off days I do curls in the squat rack. There I said it. LOL.
Hearing you guys were doing curls for the girls made me laugh.
Now doing curls in the squat rack makes me laugh.
We could all use a good laugh.

Rip does have a video showing curls in the rack. No problem when it's your personal gym.

    .
If time and not more days is the issue why not cut it down to one a day workouts?

Still a good workout overall! Strong on the squats!!

Here's some Wim Hof for you..

    starting strength coach development program
Thanks BrooklynJerry, yeah I've seen the video but I prefer to think of the rants from the old "Funny things I saw in the gym" posts when I do it.

    Thanks, FredJ:
I get most of my cold exposure from showers, and taking the dog out briefly with just a hat and sweats, in 12 to 32F.
I actually think the breathing is more impactful for me, because I probably had sleep apnea.
So not a small or medium size miracle for me, but YMMV.

As to one a day... very appealing, tried it once or twice. May go back to it.
I doubt I lack theoretical basis, books, videos correct guidance.
Rip would kindly and correctly label me a P***y.
I get to a certain point that non-pussy's push through.
I don't. I forget to work out, I'm busy or something.... make not mistake... always a totally valid excuse.
I look back at my logs and say "what the F*** happened?". And I don't know.

So I'm attempting to find a "balance of terror".
Maybe the Wim Hof stuff gets me some results with better recovery.

Jury's out. But thanks. One lift a day is probably my next strategy. It makes a lot of sense.
