    Maybe this should go in the humor thread
    Being a side sleeper aggravated the shoulder as well as all those kettlebell swings.
    At a bw of 259, I figure I'm recovering ok in a day, which won't last at age 64, watching for my overtraining symptoms.
    But you've got to be training to be over training. Very frustrating.
    Oh, my no bar squats, are the "box" squats I do as part of my normal warm up.
    I guess I just need to dig myself out of this hole of stupid.

    FIFY. Sorry to hear this, I have the same thing right now, lots of bench, neutral + wide grip chins + lat pulldowns = 2 unhappy shoulders.
    I HBBS so it didn't affect me much there, side-sleeper also and I use a pillow and put my arm UP, doesn't bother it. Live and learn; you'll get it better and keep on keepin' on. Best of luck, CP!

    Thanks. I really had no idea of how bad this was until 6/21 after the 195x5 deadlift, (which felt great... until later)
    There was no sense or feeling or sensation related to the kettlebell swings either.
    And while I am no stranger to shoulder issues... they have been with the other shoulder.
    This completely blindsided me. And I thought I had it handled when I made it much worse.
    It will be a much more cautious reintroduction to normal lifting.

    Since the pain is on the inside of the left deltoid, this grip seems ok.
    But the deadlift a week ago also felt good at this point.
    At least it feels like I'm lifting.
    Going to have to consider getting a safety bar if my shoulders are going to be unreliable. Meshuggah has three recomendations that make sense. I had the trap bar so I figured I'd see what I could do with it.

    new experiment with "no bar squats.

    So I've been going 2 minute rest, then doing either the press or the lat pull with the 5 air squats.

    searched the site for info on safety squat bars.
    I figure I'll be squatting with a real bar before one gets delivered.

    My plan is to work that in once my press hits 77 which should be in two weeks.
    I'll probably still be looking for a bar, either an EliteFTS SS Yoke bar or a Rogue SB-1 or a Crepinsek SSB.
    Since I have two Rogue bars already, and have been very happy with them.

    My daughter and son-in-law both train with me. My daughter is working through a shoulder issue as well.
