More rigid about the last warmup set being 90% of workset.
Felt really good.

I also feel the need to "plan around" my lifts.
I never used to take breaks. I thought they were stupid.
Now I always know where my lawn chair is, and what the status of my coffee / water bottle is.
I have to be considerably more deliberate.
But I am grateful for program. Would not have done that big project without it.
Or a lot of other things.

All summer I looked forward to it cooling off. Careful what you wish for.
Breaking out the flat dolly's on thursday. Daughter's house getting new flooring. Two now empty upstairs bedrooms have all their stuff in the master bedroom.
All that stuff need to move into the two empty so they can floor the master.
... what was wrong with the old floors????
glad I hung on to the flat dollies. Hoping the doorways and corners are manageable.
the bin lift in the garage got some volume work yesterday.
Works better than I expected. The "test bin" was a tad heavy. (27 gallon bin full of books / roughly 220#)
None of the other stuff was over 70#. So it just flew up with the 2-1 pulley advantage.
Thanks for that!
I'm now picturing the tune played on banjos. And it would still be great!
Enjoy the cooler weather. We're having enough of a heat wave here that it melted off pretty much all of the usable snow up in the mountains, much to the chagrin of the area ski resorts.

Saw videos by Rip and Chase about halted deadlifts and rack pulls. (HDL below)
Ripp did say "more people should do these".
In fairness, context suggests intermediate lifters stuck north of 400.
Which is me if you add my BW to my dead. LOL

Rather than wreck my deadlift bar (Chang from Rogue) I'm building a 10" cradle for my plates (hampton deep dish / old school).
My brother had this idea of a "dedicated" dead lift bar, that always had set of 45's on it.
This is my new setup, as everything else will use my Rogue B&R. (all bought long before Rip got into the equipment business).
So the HDL will replace my "deadlift" and my rack pull (off my cradle) will replace a squat session in my three session rotation.
My deadlift goal is 365 for 3 on both lifts (HDL/RP)... followed by 405 for 1.
I'm guessing straps will be involved.
I understand what you're saying about the context of the Haltings and Rack Pulls, but remember that everything is situational. If you're stuck/struggling, they are always an option. I see plenty of videos from the other coaches on their socials that show older lifters doing one or the other (mostly the pulls) with weights much lighter than 400lbs, quite possibly due to range of motion issues. But again, situational.
I'm getting ready to transition into my annual maintenance phase while I spend the winter snowboarding and both lifts will become my pull, even though I haven't topped out yet. My motivation for those is that they apparently don't beat up the body quite as much as a full deadlift. But we shall see.
Straps? Definitely, especially for the pulls. But if you can get away without for the haltings, that will help you keep/maintain your grip strength.
Looking forward to you achieving both goals!
Michael, If I can someday lift a single at 405 I think I will be ready for heaven. In any event that is my ultimate goal. I hope we both make it.
i really liked when i was able to do rack pulls, it was the only time i was able so far to move 4 plates (and then some)
good for the confidence, and also helps build your finishing.
