Squat
45x5
135x3
185x1
215x5x3
Press
45x5
105x1

Bit of a back tweak on the presses, back locked up briefly after last set.
Not horrible.
Will limit my Nortic Traking to non lifting days... and maybe only once a day.
Was gassed on the Presses, tempted to do those first, but happy to make the squat numbers.
Belt is suddenly too small to use the belt loop... not a good sign.

decided to pass on some very sweet Hampton Plates in Minneapolis. 6.5hours each way.
I already have 5 pairs of 45. 2 Hamptons 2 Troy (all premium wide flange) and one set of "Standard" plates.
So I'm good with wide flange up to 495. Hell three wheels is in no immediate danger. So no great need for another 5 pairs of hampton wide flange.
But they look good.

I note your difficulty on the press from St. Nicholas feast day. The over head press is a quirky thing for me. You may wish to video your press and post it here or send to Karl or David. Even an inch off like an inch away from my chin on the way up can cause a fail. On my second lift at the competition I was just a tiny bit in front and wound up 2 inches off at the top and down it came. If you video your presses take a look at them.

Thanks Carson, that makes a lot of sense. Being consistent on setup and form is most likely the culprit. I'll video on the next cycle. and sent Karl another email. LOL.

Carson, your tip worked, it felt like a lineup problem. better references for initial position felt very strong on the early reps of each set.

Something I have found helpful in finding the right positioning and set up for the press is to have the bar a skosh higher than the starting position. Then to limbo under it, take it off the pins, let the bar seek it's own level of depth and positioning over the upper torso laying back more if necessary, and finally press it up.
