Glad to see you back at it. Press and Bench numbers looked especially good.

    3/21/2019 Thursday

    Squat
    45x5x2
    135x3
    230x5x3 2.5 from 5rm

    Press
    45x5
    113x5x3 *OGPR*

    Farmer walk
    90# x 120'

Since I've been so "gasses" I couldn't do 5's on my squats on deadlift day, and no prowler, or place to put the prowler...
I've gone back to a not too harsh version of the farmer walk. Oh, and I can't breath in the bottom position of the deadlift.
Couldn't be that I'm too fat!!! Oh wait....

So a little more walking and farmer walks for "finisher" on my workouts.

Very happy suddenly with my Squat. Close to OGPR territory.
I'll have a go at 301 squat at the spring challenge. for an ALL TIME PR.
300 on squat and dead is my PR from year of our Lord 1974.
(for context, watch a trailer from "That 70's Show".
45 years is a very long time.

45 years sure seems like a long time ago to me. I wish I could do what I did when I was 50yo. No way could ever do what I did when I was 30. Good luck at the contest.

    Current book: Illiad - Homer

Comment: Happy with squat and Bench. Feel like the deadlift was there, but working out late due to "life".
The bench seems to be taking more out of me than it used to.
Needed some HIIT. But it was time for bed.
Might drag the deadlift to the following day next time.

    3/30/2019 Sat +4

    Squat
    45x5x2
    135x3
235x0 was going for 5 as I did 3x3 last week
    225x0
    205x3x3 Yikes

    Press
    45x5
114x1 Hmm did 113x5x3 last time
    105x1
    95x5

Well, that was unimpressive. I don't even have a good excuse.
Glad I lifted though... just reminded myself that I'm still a long way from a walker.
Which wasn't true not long ago.
    Miss the Geezer forum.

    More like wild hopes.

    Theory says
    Squat 275
    Press 134
    Dead 288

    Those are pounds of course.

In Theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, in practice there is.

OH, and my 16 YO nephew who recently squat 370x5x3, he has a conflict and may not be able to attend. =(

that is a shame about your nephew. You will beat me by a long way on the squat. I might be able to do what you do with the press. I suspect I should beat you on the dead. It's fun to compare but really I'm just happy to be able to compete at all and am very happy to be able to increase my lifts.

    Don't forget your singlet.

    starting strength coach development program
    4/8/2019 Monday +9
    wt: 275

    Squat
    45x5x2
    135x3
    235x0
    225x3x3

Bench Adjusted width which was too narrow and wrists were bent
    45x5
    135x3
165x5x3 This felt great even though just injured left shoulder

    Dead lift
    135x5
245x3 Wanted 5 here, felt like blood was gonna come out my nose. Also #3 was a grind with low bar speed.

Been doing a light farmer walk 90 lbs x 240' once a day at lunch.
Sort of a more time efficient "long" walk. Going to have to make a better showing in HIIT, to help the fade I've been having toward the end of my workouts.

My rack in the garage doubles as a work bench, and I got wrapped around the axle on a lawn furniture project. Which was bad because when I hurt my shoulder (sleeping) I couldn't get right after it with the arc and press like in Rip's Shoulder surgery rehab video.

    Live and learn I guess.

Substantial change to my grip in the press, bench and even dead. Bench felt easy for a change. My dead grip (DOH) also felt far better, no longer lining up my knuckles, more in line with my thumb. I have a huge palm and it now feels like my palm is partially under the bar. With my wrists straight, I feel a lot more power in my presses.

    I'll bring an extra singlet.
