On the Deads: Do you have a video of recent attempts? I was having problems with the deads because I was standing too close to the bar. I found myself straightening my knees which weren't bent very much anyway before I got the bar off of the ground and hence failing the heavier waits. When I woke up to that I began lifting heavier again. If you have a video post it.

    Thanks Carson, I'll take one.

    Sunday 9/29/2019

    Press w/Arc
    42x5
    92x5x3

Threw these in out of sequence because my shoulders were bothering me after both standard presses and benches.
    This seemed to work out.

    Bench
    45x5
    95x5
    150x5,4,0
    135x5

Ran out of gas. Part first three question, part doing the press first and not enough rest between.

    Dead
    135x5
    185x3 added belt
225x3 all doh to this point
    240x2 Mixed

Felt like a better workout than I've been having on the weekend.
Moving the Dead here was odd, and sort of questionable to sub the press for the lights squats.
I may do squats as warm ups for the Deads next time. But I hate changing too many things at once.
I'll already pretty far off the rails now. If it do make a radical change it will be to return to standard programming.

I picked up two more pairs of Hampton 45's. Glad I got them, but had i know how bad traffic and construction were going to be, I would have passed.
They look good though. I can now load 405 using just Hampton deep dish 45's.

one idea also is if you can do your empty bar squats and then just your next tier (say 135) as a warm up, then do the dead so you are both warmed up and have some more juice in the tank
The more I think about this the better it sounds. Gonna try this next cycle. Thanks.

Indeed it is. I wish I could have had a coach like him when I was much younger. Still, I take him much more seriously than I think he believes I do. It's a joy having him as our coach.

    10/2/2019 Wednesday

    Press with arc
    42x5
    92x5,3
    82x5

    slept on my shoulder wrong?

    Squat
    45x5
    135x5
    185x5 meant to do 3
    220x5x3

Started making my own "Stan Efferding Monster Mash".
I already make my own bone broth (chicken).
So far, I feel stronger, and less inflammation.
Omitted are the Deads which I moved to the weekend.
    So video next time.

Now that I have 4 pairs of Hampton milled and calibrated 45's... I have to at least attempt a 315 single on the dead.
    It's the law I think.

    Very busy at work.

The "monster mash" is a great idea. I call it "burger rice".
(no monsters were mashed in the making of this product)
I make 8 servings at a time. Most go to zip lock bags. Lunches and dinners for 4 days.
This was sort of how I roll anyway. Just a new recipe.
Stan has a couple of great videos on how to make it.
I ordered a 5 bladed potato masher, to chop up the meat.
I do stuff in a scale where that matters.

10/7/2019 Monday (should have been weekend oops)

    Press with arc
    42x5
    72x5x3

Had a couple of bad twinges in the front of my left shoulder after my last workout.
Bench was out, so I went light on the press. Back to including the rehab arc.

    Squats for warmup
    45x5
    135x5

    Deadlift
    135x5
    185x3
235x6 Lost count, backed to 235 after several failures at 245, double overhand, miscounted because it seemed too easy to be 5. Six on the video.

315x0 Got this off the ground 3" or so. Mixed grip
Carson was right, feet too far forward.

Feels like the increased carbs are kicking in.
Next cycle I'll go back to 245x5 and then try 305.
I chose 315 because I wanted to at least try my new plates. LOL. PR is 301.

I feel like the dead is moving again.

Good work. Keep it up. About a week before the competition to you plan to do only light lifts? I do. I don't know if it makes a difference or not but it seems logical.
