Sunday 10/13/2019 +6 days since last work out... house project messed up me and my garage

Press Shoulder (left front) aggravated a couple times. not doing bench
    42x5
    72x5x3

Squat +5 should have only +2.5
    45x5
    135x5
    185x4 meant to do 3
225x5,0 unracked second set and had a bad feeling
215x5x2 probably could have got 222.5... but couldn't stop myself from just slinging on the second wheel.
    stupid is as stupid does.

Dead lift +5 learned nothing from last lift
    135x3
    185x3
240x5 but I got away with one.

The Stan Efferding "mash" is working out great.
    basically
    1 part rice
1 part ground beef (or diced chicken)
    1 part bone broth

    I've changed is some.
1 part rice (made with bone broth)
    1 part beef (or chicken)
    1/4 part bone broth

I make my own bone broth. It is very easy. Just takes patients.
buy 5.5 lb bag of chicken legs.
Dump in crock pot, cover with water.
high 3 hours, check temp of chicken
    remove chicken, let cool.
Leave the broth in crock pot.
remove meat from bones, throw bones in the crock pot, bag and refrigerate the meat.
Low over night add two bay leaves
    next day
    remove bones with slotted spoon
pour thru cheese cloth into a stock pot
2 cups of rice, 4 cups of broth, some oil and salt
    dice the chicken
    mix and bag
Probably need another half batch of rice for that much chicken.

    I like both versions.

    Systemic inflammation is down markedly.
Feel much stronger on my lifts... especially the dead.
But coming off Keto you'd have to expect that.
Rip has covered the topic plenty, so I knew what I was doing wasn't optimal for getting stronger.

    Fall Classic.

    Greysteel was out in force.

    John, who's 92, Deadlifted 250.
Carson was gracious as always, and warms up with more than my failed 3rd attempt.

The whole Greysteel crew both pissed me off and inspired me.

My day, Rack 15. A number of missed lifts today where lifters "aimed for the hooks" instead of walking the bar into the racks.

    Squat
    115/253 +
    120/264 +
    130/286 +

    Press
    50/110 +
    54/118.8 no lift
54/118.8 lift but step 3 red

    Deadlift
    130/286 +
    138/303.6 +
    143/314.6 2 reds hitch

    Total 699.6
    Spring total 691.5
    Last fall total 576.4

I'm surprised I was able to press as well as I did, given recent shoulder problems.
Fouls cost me 9 kilos, or 19.8 pounds. Very similar to the Spring "fouling pattern".

I watched the videos Carson took for me (thanks!). I'd have called it the same way.
Pissed about the 315 dead, was pulling with my arms and the "hitch" was me trying to straighten my arms out.

Good time was has by all.

Brought the home made Stan Efferding Monster Mash, (aka ground beef / rice / bone broth equal parts). Thought it worked well. I had very even energy, and my lifts were right where I'd hoped they'd be.
Couple of stupid mistakes from 719.

You did good my friend. I appreciate your kindness and good thoughts. We must sit down over a coffee or even something stronger someday. I hope we get the chance. I need younger people in my life. Keep at it. As our 92 year old lifter says "Onward and Upward".

Two things I'd like very much:
    1. Have that coffee "or something stronger" with you, be glad to buy
    2. Lift more like you

Speaking of lifting well, the lightest female lifter from Greysteel looked like she was squatting and deadlifting between 1.5 and 2.5x body weight.
That is elite. The other two were remarkably strong as well.
My failed 315 was only 1.17xbw. And my Squat was only 1.07xbw.
I was just amazed, inspired, and humbled.
Speaks volumes for Sully's coaching, and the dedication of the lifters.

You are a math professor by trade, right?

Sully is excellent but he is training up two assistant coaches who are very good as well. He's an all around coach not afraid to share his knowledge.

More of an Operations Research type. Market and Pricing analytics for electronic media.

But, some of my best friends are math professors. LOL. (3 actually)

It is hard to overstate how inspiring you and John and the other Greysteel lifters were for me.
I feel like I'm only starting now.
