    Monday 3/8/2021

    Deadlift 135x3 225x3 250x3

Was rushed. Didn't even have music.
My Mondays are like that due to work.

    Wednesday 3/10/2021

    Press with arc 42x5 92x5 116x5x3 +1 117 pr for reps

    Squat 45x3 135x3 180x3x3 +5

Suspect the squat problem is a return of the "shoe issue".
So started a revised "program" to fit into my so-called life better.
    M-W-F

    Mon Deads
    Wed Press / Squat
    Fri Bench / Squat

Mondays have been high stress, high work time committment.
This problem may have a solution in sight.
Maybe not the solution I would pick.
But at 67 being "retired" might not be so bad.
On the other hand, my background translates well into the restart of travel.
Suffice it to say, the company is in more trouble than I am if I kicked to the curb.

Not my first rodeo, I'll be fine.
    Carson's book has been helpful.

Thank you, Michael. I'm mostly glad that I retired even though I knew I had more to offer. I was getting tired of the anti-Christian and anti-American stuff I kept hearing even in the classes I taught, but I've found volunteer opportunities since then that are fulfilling. Writing the book was a great joy for me.

I once heard retirement described this way "It's like pulling ones hand out of a bucket of water and realizing you aren't missed." It leaves one a little melancholy but it also helps one, or at least me, understand what really is important in life. I have gone back to a couple of retirement parties. They were mostly disappointing. Very few even knew who I was.

On retirement I realized how many moments I missed in life "locked" into the same old grind. I do miss being able to build things that are expensive otherwise for mostly free or almost nothing. One should look at it as opportunities to be enjoyed. Sometimes I just smile when the traffic report comes on the local news.

Oh and good luck with your new program CP.

    3/12/2021 Friday

    Bench 45x5 115x5 155x5,5,4
    Squat 45x3 135x1 185x5x3

will repeat weight on the bench.
probably up a pound on the squat.

    Thanks guys!

Carson: As you demonstrate in your book, your wisdom is well beyond me.

Fred J: You're right to view new situations in terms of opportunity.

Mr Bingley: Perspective is harder to have when it is "you". LOL.

Not sure what next week brings.
Maybe I'll have time to paint my house.

    Monday 3/22/2021 +6

    Press with arc 42x5 92x5 116x0 112x5x3

    Squat 45x3 135x3 180x0 155x3x3

6 day gap didn't help. There may have been some stress.

Press missed my repeat of 116 on the first rep.
Probably the bar was too far forward.
I did get the 5 arcs in at 116.

Back twinge on squat while backing up.
Figured it was the rack or the safety bars.
felt good to get some sets in though.

Job front has appeared to stabilize in a much better place than expected.
Thank God. I also was able to figure out what retirement will mean to us, and the cost / benefits of continuing on.
I could even explain all that to my dear wife.

I was forced to be very pragmatic about retirement.
The minimum required distribution is a big part of this for those of us near 70.5 with deferred accounts (401k / ira).
    Probably smarter to go Roth.

So, are you disembarking the crazy train then? Inquiring geezers want to know if another is joining the ranks of the retired.
