Hello all,

I am 36, 5'7'', current weight is 192. I spent the first three months of this year working my body weight down from 226 to the current weight using higher rep, body weight exercises with occasional weights thrown in and eating low carb. I have committed to participating in a highland games heavy athletics event in September so I am using SS to increase my strength in preparation for that event. I am not a complete newbie but I haven't done barbell lifts in a while and this is my first time really sticking to it religiously.

My current stats on lifts are:

Squat: 210
Bench 125
Press: 115
PW Clean: 105
Deadlift: 225 (stalled at this lift for the first time and only got 3 reps in last attempt)


Current struggles: RECOVERY

I feel beat the day after lifting, especially on DL days. I have bumped up my calories by 500 to see if that makes a difference. I am having trouble getting the bar to move off the floor with DL. Once I get it moving I can usually get all the way up but any suggestions on how to work that particular weakness would be appreciated.
