A bit sore today after all the swimming etc from the day before. Decided to sleep in and eat. Skip the ill equipped gym.

I guess taking off 6 sessions of squats can cause issues. Was so sore today I was only able to squat light to try and ease the pain.

    Squat: 45 3x5
    Bench: 92 3x5
    RDL: 64 3x8
    Chins: 3x8

Squats: 3x4x110 Felt pretty good. I'll start progressing next session hopefully. Back seems to be 95%.
    OHP: 60 5,4,4
Power snatch 5x3x35 Form good moving to 40 next session.

    Deadlift 150 1x5

I'm pretty much stuck. Deadlifts still going up but Squats are a fing grind. OHP is stuck again. Bench is a grind. Time to eat more. Was trying to avoid it as long as possible but its time.

After giving it some serious thought I've decided to up my caloric intake and transition to the HLM intermediate program. I'm older and there is no way I'm going to attempt the Texas program. I'm following Rips program from the programming book and picking incline for chest on the medium day as the chest option. I'm going to Power clean on the light day for back. If I still can't rack the cleans cleanly I'll do snatches instead. I'm also going to add some bodyweight pullups to the light day.

I'll continue to post in this thread until I'm confident I'm making the right choice, then I'll move over to the intermediate section.

Today I did some stretching/rolling , and some light calf work. Did a bunch of power clean stretches also.

That's exactly what SSC Tom Campitelli recommended to me during a recent session ... plus, snatches are fun!
