I have started building my house and my weekends and vacation time are completely absorbed with trying too get a roof over my head. Lots of shovel work and bucket carries last weekend. Shoulders hate me. I am not even trying to make any strength progress, just trying to hang on to what I have thru this build process.

Yeah, it's kicking my butt some days. It's nice that it isn't too hot but the rain has been a challenge. We were bitching about the drought so this is what you get.
This morning I only had time to squat
    45x5,5
    115x5
    185x3
    225x2
    275x5,5,5

This afternoon I was working at a different site than normal and slipped into their gym. Smith machine that had hook on it t that let me use free weight barbell but they only had a 10 kilo barbell. Short 25 mm thing. Gave it a try
    22 x5
    72x5
    112x5x
    162x5
182x5. This started bruising my hand with the small bar so I stopped

    Chins 8,7,9,6,7

    Dumbbell bench w 80'sx 7,8,8. It ain't the program but it's training.

haven't lifted in two weeks. This morning I rolled out there and squatted.
    45x5,5
    115x5
    185x3
    225x3
    275x5,5,5.

The garage was 30 degrees. Winter hasn't even started yet. I'll be strapping hot water bottles to the bar before long.

    It was downright cold.

I spent the last 4 days busting my butt on the house. lots of bucket carries with both dirt and rocks. And shoveling, and swinging a pickaxe. I am sure that I am detraining, but I'm thankful that I have enough strength to do the work.

    starting strength coach development program
Since I hadn't worked out in a week, I forced myself out there this morning.
worked up to second set of 275x5 when the phone rang. Work pulled me away. I went into the company gym later and did some dumbbell presses and shrugs.tomorrow will be a ton of shovel work. Shoulder pain is really getting to me when I squat lately. I'm starting to fold toward a safety squat bar.
