Yes. Its a nice thing to share. She was running LP in the fall but She had some health concerns around christmas and was just cleared a week ago, by her doctor to lift one day per week. We are resetting the clock on her LP and starting from scratch. Its has been over 3 months since she touched the Barbell. Of 5 kids, she is the only one who has ever listened to my advice on lifting. The others are given to all manner of gymfuckery. My son in the Air Force is back to lifting now that Basic is over. I Just sent him a belt. I wont try to tell him how to use it. He wont listen to me.
Spent the day in the truck with daughter driving to buy a Chipper for the farm.
Got home and coached her thru a workout. She hit a 15 lb jump on squat....because I don't math well.,
I was going to deadlift while I coached her thru squat but it didn't work out well so I only did 2 warmup sets of 135 today for deadlift.
SSB squat, 45cx5
135x5
185x5
225x3
275x3x5. That was hard.
good job all around :)
Love the title. I think strength training is my mid life crisis as well. I just dont want to be a weak old person.
I think that is a driving motivation for many of us. The train comes off the rails pretty easily as you get older and its rather common to discover that you are simply not strong enough to do what used to be an easy task. That is a humbling and shitty feeling.
