earlier in the year, I worked with a SS coach to address depth issue, and she tried to get me to use the safety squat bar. I didn't want to have to be a special snowflake. so I resisted. But I am at a point now where I just can't keep pretending my shoulder isn't gong to hold me back. I will still be able to squat and I will just have to work from the situation I am in.
I had never heard of Ricky Dale Crain, so I googled him and watched a couple videos of him lifting.

I am hoping to have my bar within the next week or so.

Finally got my safety squat bar yesterday. I was able to get into my garage gym this morning and use it. Started low so that i dont hurt myself. Haven't squatted for about a mile nth and not used to the yoke bar. I plan to run another LP to get myself back to where i was. I will aiming for 2 workouts per week to start and then play it by ear when i need to start changing things up.

I switched from back squats to the front style because of shoulder pain, PD. Loved back squats, loved, loved, loved them. But it came to the point where I could no longer even sleep at night. After making the switch to fronts, zero pain. Figured I'd switch back sometime, but as a non-competitor, there is no good reason with the results I've had. Even a Buffalo bar didn't make a huge amount of difference, although there was some.

My partner at the time, he's dissed me for 2 years now even though our weight room is set up at his place, is a big bench presser. For years he gave me a hard time about a weinie bench press, and shoulder pain didn't help any. Once the pain was gone, I was able to focus harder and at least catch if not surpass him. There's my excuse in a nutshell.

When you can move the kind of weights that you are squatting and benching, you don't have to make any excuses.

Wow! Looks like you're teaching that bar a lesson, PD! I'd use that set as a learning video to teach the squat.
