Got back into the gym today, which I am super grateful for. It was a lot less crowded than I expected, too. As you might expect from a beginner who hasn't lifted in a few months, I haven't made strength gains but I don't think I really backslid either which is exciting. I'm ready to get back onboard for real.

Today my work sets of 5 reps were:

    Squat: 145lbs
    Bench: 105lbs
    Deadlift: 185lbs

It felt like I could have gone heavier but I'm glad I didn't. These reps felt controlled and like I'm not going to force myself to stall too soon. We'll see!

Things are moving along. It's been a bumpy couple of weeks but things are moving. Below are weights for work sets of 5 reps. I cut out a couple sets of warm-up for the deadlift because it was unseasonably warm today and I felt the warm-up sets may have been fatiguing me a little for the deadlift today.

    Squat: 165lbs
    Bench: 110lbs
    Deadlift: 205lbs

Bad time management on my part today, I should've started the workout sooner. Had to cut deadlifts so I could get to work on time. Below are my work set weights.

    Squat: 175lbs
    Press: 80lbs

Felt like I need to keep me trunk tighter during squats, but otherwise felt good.

Another time management failure today. Feeling angry about it.

    Squat: 185lbs
    Bench: 115lbs

Lost 26lbs and have been mad busy. Hit the gym, though. Decided to "start" from here. Weight was selected because it was the first weight where my rep speed slowed at all.

    Squat: 115lbs
    Press: 70
    Deadlift: 155

Try to stick with it! I am a musician as well; worked in the music industry of Nashville for about a decade or so. I recently got more serious about a lifestyle change where i pay attention to my diet and exercise.
