    Squat
    45x5x2
    135x5
    175x3
    205x2
    235x1 b
    260x5x3 b / 6 min between sets

S1 & S2 pretty solid. S3 felt better than it looked. As usual, still missing something - no feeling of ability to explode out of hole.

Press (kneeling - too damn cold and windy on the courtyard)
    45x5
    75x4

    Default Thu - 03/08/2018 - 8:30pm - 50 min

    Bench (M)
    45x8,7
    95x5
    135x3
    165x2
    191.5x5

    cgbp
    165x8x3

    Set 1: EZPZ
    Set 2: Grind
Set 3: regained focus/form and it wasn't too bad

    Probably +5 next week.

    Deadlift (M)
    135x5
    225x3
    275x1 b
    315x1 b
    345x1 b / hook / chalk
    275x5x2 b / hook

I was supposed to do 345x5 a week and a half ago. Have not had a proper deadlift week since my week starting Feb 17. Went for intensity of 1 rep then back off for medium day work. Rx for Mon is 345x5.

So... the Dungeon floor is not level. It is brick either without mortar, or the mortar is now particles again. This is not sloped concrete not level, the individual bricks (or an area of them) can be different. I figured this may come in to play on the deadlift and squat. Specifically, I was pretty sure the weight on the left was lower when deadlifting. Measuring, I discovered the following:

    1) the left side bumpers were 1.5" lower than where I stand and the right bumpers.
    2) where I stand, my heals were 0.25" to 0.5" higher than my toes.

I placed a 2x4 under what was the left side and turned around. And magically, the deadlift was "easy" tonight!

    140.5x5x2,3+f b
    133x5x2 b

S3R4: stepped, jumped, lay back and all = no go.

Not sure if stalling and need reset, cleaning these is wearing on me or if the medium Thu is too close.

    Squat (H)
    45x5x2
    135x5
    175x3
    215x2 b
    245x1 b
    265x5x3 b / 6 & 6.5 min
    245x5 b / 6 min
    225x4 b / 6 min (back feeling fried, skipped 5th rep)

Decent form on most reps. A couple too high, a couple the knees slid back on the ascent and then lost upper back tightness.

Should have done this yesterday, will skip light squat day tomorrow.

    John -

Thanks. I'll freely admit to stealing formatting and style from several logs that I have found informative and entertaining. Hoping that my "notes" provide me, and possibly others, insight as I review this log in the future so I don't make the same mistakes. Again, thanks for stopping by.

My daughter scolded me yesterday because she had to clean up my mess before she could start lifting. I left the bench in the rack and the 15lb bumpers that she uses for DL warm-ups on the bar I use for pressing. I put everything away tonight so she can start fresh tomorrow. Sometimes getting called out by your kid makes you proud of them!

WT (last wk: ave / min / max)
    237.1 / 235.2 / 239.6

Bench (Medium day / Heavy Bench)
    45x5x2
95x5x2 extra warm up since I didn't squat today
    135x3
    165x2
    195x1
    215x5x3 b / 6 min between sets
    193.5x5 b / 6.5 min

S3R5 was an unintentional paused rep. These were not as smooth as last week. Had planned to add a 5th set, but S4R5 was rated at "barely."

    Deadlift
    135x5
    225x3
    275x1 b / 3 min
    320x1 b / hook / 4 min
350x5 b / hook / chalk -- lockout is still questionable. Need to focus on lockout - specifically on Med day.

Rx was 345x5. However, I woke in the middle of the night thinking that the 345x1 last Thu was easy and I should go for 350 today. Then Abba's Take A Chance On Me popped into my head. Maybe the soundtrack for Wed will be Abba's Greatest Hits!

Proposal: Next fall, turn the clock back 1/2 an hour and leave well enough alone. We may "burn some daylight" in the winter and not be able to mow the lawn at 10pm in the summer. Oh well!

    Squat (LP)
    45x5x2
    135x5
    175x3
    215x2 b
    245x1 b
    270x5x3 b / 7 min between sets

Some good, some bad. Feel like I'm getting control a bit more consistently. Maybe someday I'll squat manly weights.

    Press (M)
    43x5x2
    78x5
    108x2 b
    126.5x5x3 b / 4 min between sets

Sometimes, these medium days seem more difficult than the heavy days. Finally got some groove on S3.

    Default THu - 03/15/2018 - 7pm - 40 min

Either I need to whine about the time change some more, or my experiment in adding an extra day to HLM is failing.

Plan was to squat HLM and have the other 3 lifts on H/L. I think the timing of the days I have available may not be working.

    Bench (M)
    45x8,7
    95x5x2
    135x5 evidently, 3 = 5 today
    165x2
    193.5x5

    cgbp
    170x8x2
    170x6

    Left elbow aggravated some.

    Deadlift
    135x5
    225x5 b

Planned to work up to 2-3 sets @ 280. I knew at 135 that wasn't a good idea.

Took 3 weeks, but finally got it. Had hoped to go to the local HS weight balcony, didn't work out.

Same as last Saturday, should have done squats - chose not to. Dragging ass last half of week. Ate WAY too much yesterday and today.
