Bench and Dead are frustrating and disappointing this LP run. I expected 10lb increases up to 195 and 315 respectively.

    Squat
    45x5x2
    95x5
    135x3
    165x1
    195x1 b
    220x5x3 b / 4 min

Left elbow was barking after last session. Review of final work set video showed significant wrist flexion (oddly, right wrist remains neutral). Keyed on pulling elbows down and the "feeling" of wrist extension today. A couple of reps on WS1 were high - I assume due to the focus on the left arm. Final 2 sets looked pretty good.

    Bench
    45x8,7
    95x5
    125x3
    155x1
    175x5x3 / 3 min

Unfortunately, it's going to be +5 next time.

    Dead
    135x5
    225x3 b
    265x1 b / h / c
    290x3 b / h / c
    290x1 b / h / c

Backed up a shade more. Brain fails to communicate with body after 1 rep. Supposed to be 290x5.

First time listening to the album. It is a shame I didn't pick this up in the mid-80's out of bargain/used bin when I was using NDSL money to purchase stereo equipment and albums. Like everyone, I am familiar with Free Ride and Frankenstein. I found the rest of the album enjoyable and familiar.

    am BW 237 (oops)

    Squat
    45x5x2
    95x5
    135x3
    175x1
    205x1 belt
    225x5x3 belt / 4 min

Kept left wrist mostly straight. Better at getting knees set on time.

    Press
    43x5x2
    68x5
    88x2
    98x5x3 / 3 min

    Deadlift
    135x5
    225x3 belt
    265x1 belt / hook
    290x3x2 belt / hook / chalk / 3 min

You know what it was supposed to be.

Last rep or two in S2&3 high. Left arm didn't look bad, but it played in the bench.

    Bench

    Music
Gary Moore: Victims of the Future.

I saw Gary in the summer of '83 at Alpine Valley opening for Krokus (Headhunter) and Def Leppard (Pyromania).

I wish that: 1) someone would have introduced me to Gary prior to this concert, but since that didn't happen 2) I would have went out and bought a couple of his albums.

It seems likely that his band included:
Drums: Ian Paice (all versions of Deep Purple)
Bass: Neil Murray (Whitesnake: Trouble through Slide It In [US Mix])
Keys: Neil Carter (UFO: The Wild, The Willing and The Innocent through Making Contact).

I already owned the UFO albums and within two years I would have all Deep Purple and Whitesnake albums through the time period. I recall enjoying Gary and the band, but had no familiarity with the songs. A missed opportunity.

Wish we could have met a couple years sooner than we did. Would have been great to go to most of those shows you went to back then.

    Switching to a 4-day upper/lower split. Because:

    a) I can't seem to exit the struggle bus. Food and sleep are no worse than usual. Maybe age and recovery have caught up with me.
    b) Left arm tendonitis from squat creeping back into the picture. Hopefully a couple of days off between squat and bench will allow me to keep bench moving.

Going to see if I can run each lift as a 2x/wk LP for 2+ weeks. Should be no problem with squat. I'll bail on others as soon as needed. Move each lift to H/L when LP fails. Adding some assistance exercises as outlined by Andy Baker in his 4 day TM template.

The clearing of The Great Corn Desert was halted due to mechanical issues. If those are resolved, I'll keep the weights moving at less than an optimum pace.

It got cold in the Stables last night. Wore gloves. Don't worry, they are thin and did not clash with my shoes.

15 miles, a town over and down was an ocean apart back then.

If the BB tournament that I first became aware of your existence was early in the season, we could have (with stars in our eyes) sat in the last row at the Metro Centre to see a jukebox inflate (no Spinal Tap measurement errors), smell dope and watch people with double vision throw up.

Planned 3x5, but that wasn't going to happen. Greedy trying to progress both presses on the same day at my age and this far along for this LP run.
