Training Log for first 6 weeks of SS LP
Age: 41 (at start)
Feb 2018: Didn't follow the program, so not counting anything in that. Only lifted 5 days or so during that month.
March 4th beginning of actual SS, using The Barbell Prescription for programming.
March 4th:
my weight: 225 lbs
Squat: 165x5x3
Bench: 135x5x3 (easy)
Deadlift: 135x5x1 (easy)
March 6th:
Squat: 175x5x3 (got weightlifting shoes! changed high bar to low bar squats, oops)
Press: 70x5x3
Deadlift: 145x5x1 (easy)
March 8th:
Squat: 185x5x3
Bench: 140x5x3
Deadlift: 155x5x1 (medium diff.)
March 11:
Squat: 190x5x3 (form poor)
Press: 75x5x3
Deadlift: 165x5x1 (intense)
March 13:
my weight: 228lbs
Squat: 195x5x3 (form better)
Bench: 145x5x3 (good)
Dead: 175x5x1 (getting hvy)
March 15:
Squat: 135x5x3 (deloaded form practice, wasnt putting hips back, quad stressed, back angle too high)
Press: 80x5x3 (tough)
Deadlift: 185x5x1 (heavy!)
March 18 (sunday):
Squat: 175x5x3
Bench: 150x5x3
Deadlift: 195x5x1
March 20:
Squat: 185x5x3 (knees sore, knees too far forward)
Press: 85x5x3
Power Clean: 85x5x3 (Hurt Shoulder!)
(now Age 42)
March 23:
Squat: 190x5x3
Bench: 155x5x3
Deadlift: 205x5x1
March 25 (MISSED WORKOUT)....
March 27: (Repeat workout)(3 minute rests)
Squat: 190x5x3
Press: 85x5x3
Power Clean: 65x5x1 (did these light because of shoulder injury)
Chins: Green resistance band (garage gym brand, 120-175 lb resistance), repeat sets until 20 total
7,5,3 (quit before 20)
March 29:
my weight: 229lbs
Squat: 195x5x3 (4-5 min rests)
Bench: 160x5x3 (3 min rests)
Deadlift: 215x5x1 (intense)
March 31:
Squat: 200x5x3 (4 min rests)
Press: 85x5x3 (repeating last workout due to bad form)
Power Clean: SKIPPED due to shoulder (may never do these again?)
Chins: 7,6,3,3,2 (green resistance band)
April 3: SICK!
April 5: (Repeat last workout)
Squat: 200x5x3
Bench: 160x5x3
Deadlift: 215x5x3
April 8:
(decided to do Press before squats for a change)
Press: 90x5x3 (15th rep tough)
Squats: 205x5x3 (new PR)
Chins: 9, 6, 5 (still with green band)
April 10:
Squats: 210x5x3 (leaning forward some)
Bench: 165x5x3 (new PR, good)
Deadlift: 220x5x1 (new PR, easier than 215 was)
April 12:
Coaching session with Bill Hannon:
(all weights deloaded some for form work)
Squat: 185x5x4
Press: 85x5x3
Dead: 185x3, 205x1
Barbell row: 65x8
April 15: (minor shoulder pain, been off and on last 2 weeks)
Squat: 195x5x3
Bench: 177.5x4 (oops!), 170x5x2 (realized my 55lb bar was actually a 45 lb bar, fixed all weights in training log!!)
Chins: 8,5,4,3 (green band)
April 17:

Was is your height? What is your age? Welcome to the real thing. See an SS coach ASAP to avoid technical mistakes and/or injury.

UPDATE:
I am 42 years of age, 6'1 and now weigh 236ish, whereas I was 225 when I started SS in March.
My numbers are now (as of June 5):
Squat: 265x3x5
Deadlift: 275x1x5
Bench: 187.5x3x5 (but de-loaded to 175 to work on form)
Press: 102.5x3x5 (coach had me switch to Press 1.0 because I suck at Press 2.0)
Power Cleans: I don't do these. They were aggravating shoulder.
Just started chin-ups again (after stopping April 17) and can only do 2 unassisted. Doing 3x5 with a green (40-80lb I think?) resistance band.
Also I started working with coach Bill Hannon via SSOC around mid April, has been great!
