    Squat 150lbs. 3x5
    Press 90lbs. 3x5
    DL 220 1x5

Today was awesome! I tried out a proper lifting gym near me called Heavy Metal Fitness. A lot of local powerlifters train there and I believe Rippetoe has at least visited and maybe spoken there.

    Great equipment and atmosphere.

Everything felt lighter today just because I was surrounded by people putting up serious weight.

Also, I slept great and ate twice as many carbs pre-workout. Plus, I’ve started using creatine. Maybe all that is kicking in.

Forgot to add: the girl at the front desk told me:

“Your lifts look great. Only thing ...make sure you look straight ahead on your squat otherwise you’ll fall forward.”

Even though she saw me squat and balance on my mid foot and NOT fall forward. Whatever...

Almost forgot to post today’s workout:

    Squat 155 3x5
    Bench 110 3x5
    DL 225 1x5

Had to grind out the last rep of the last set of squat. Finally feeling like work!

    Bench was great.

DL was really fun because 225 means 2 x 45 on each side and looks cool.

Still way under on carbs... Can’t eat two servings of oats at breakfast... help?

If you can't eat 2 servings of oats without feeling bloated, incorporate something like gatorade pre and intra workout.
    Half pre, half intra.

    Squat 160 3x5
    Press 95 3x5
    DL 230 1x3

Couldn’t pull the last two reps of my DL work set. Pulled for 5 seconds and it just wouldn’t come off the floor.

Not entirely sure what to do. Gonna go search the forum and read the book. Assuming I de-load and work back up?

On a positive note, I felt pretty damn good about that 95lb. press though.

Also, I’ve learned that I’ve been possibly eating my food in the wrong order. I always start with protein. Then try to pile the carbs in last. If I eat the carbs first I seem to get full less quickly. Then I can put the more satiating foods on top.
