Thinking of giving up on power cleans and doing clean pulls instead.
As much as I love power cleans, as soon as go over 150 lbs my wrists start hurting and then I have to deload back to 135 pounds for weeks for my wrists to heal, then the bloody cycle starts all over again and I get no where.

Also I think it is time to change to the intermediate forum since my programming is no longer novice.
Both bench and press have definitely hit intermediate gains, and due to my back (it is bloody injury prone), I have modified programming for legs and lower back to allow for recovery. I’m no longer following the linear progression text book

You'll have to let us know your new log if you go over to the intermediate boards.

I love power cleans because of the move itself - floor to shoulders with non-trivial weight very quickly. That said, I probably suck at them if under scrutiny. Two things that come to mind with wrists hurting is a bad rack or rack position - especially hand too tight on the bar -, or possibly not getting slack out of the bar before pulling, resulting in a jarring of the wrist on pull.

Whatever you decide to do with regards to cleans and overall programming, keep at it (not that there's any doubt you will)!

Yeah, I love power cleans too, I’ll probably come back to them at a later date.

I’ll finish up the bench program, then test out a 5 rep max and 3 rep max to see if it was productive.
I still have this lingering shoulder injury so if it works even with a bloody injury then it truly works.
