My max 3x5 squat is 290# and my DL is 380#. I would say 50-100# difference.

So at least 20kg or so, thanks. At the moment I would say that my deadlift is lagging behind a bit then. I may need to switch up my programming a bit.
Thank you for the info.
Also, as a 5ft 10 guy, what bodyweight should I be shooting for? Cheers
Read this thread:
Ideal Bodyweight for Performance
Short answer: There is no short answer, because there is no universal "ideal" bodyweight for a given height.
Thanks for the thread. I'm no rock climber, nor am I a bodybuilder or strongman. Just an average guy, with a manual labour job, looking to get big and strong.
Feeling strong. Workout completed on Wed, Jun 12, 2019:
AMRAP Starting Strength - Phase 1, Day 1
5:36 pm (42 min) - 2572.5 kg
Squat 3x5 90 kg
Overhead Press 3x5 42.5 kg
Deadlift 1x6 97.5 kg
Feeling strong. Workout completed today:
AMRAP Starting Strength - Phase 1, Day 2
3:27 pm (50 min) - 3200 kg
Squat 3x5 92.5 kg
Bench Press 3x5 67.5 kg
Deadlift 1x8 100 kg
So close to getting 10 reps on the deads.
Missed Tuesdays session unfortunately. Does that count as a stall?
Well my god I really need to get back to this. I've missed FAR more than just that Tuesday session I wrote about.
My goals have been mixed up and so my programming has jumped around all over the place! I settled for "I just need to be 'fit enough'". Then I met this chap who is pushing himself as a bodybuilder, and so I thought that's what I should be doing too...
Deep down though, I just want to be big and strong. I don't want to be a fat bag of shit and flab, but I want to get get bigger and bulkier and 'swole'. To be a strong physical presence and protective figure for my family. Think of a fucking viking. My wife prefers that look too.
Reading all the posts here on these forums has got my psyched about training the SS way again. I need to get back to 'exhausting linear progression'. The strongest I'll ever be is by doing this and eating more.
My only thoughts are that I want more volume for my upper body, as I recognise this is what most people see when they look for 'is that guy strong?' or 'do you even lift?' It's vain but also necessary.
Is there a general guideline for this?
Thanks to anyone that stops by and comments! Logging soon!
LOL my last post was months ago.
I've been fucking around with a barbell for a little while but need to get back to it.
Somehow, I always get drawn back to the barbell, and when I do I just want to squat, bench, and pull. So naturally SS is the go to program.
Or at least SS and its spawned copycat variants.
I can still squat and deadlift for 100kg+ working sets, so mu current goal is to get my bench up to 100kg too. That is a MASSIVE goal for me comparatively.
I guess I just need to keep lifting and eating.
Thanks to everyone thats helped in this thread in the past. Back to it!
