Default NYTXN Training Log SS LP

I started the SS LP program a few months ago and I'm really enjoying it. It's odd, because after 30 years of lifting weights on and off, I realized how little thought and planning I put into increasing my strength in a methodical and planned out manner. Instead I went with what I "felt".

My goal for 2019 is to achieve the following:
    • 1RM - Squat - 315 lbs
    • 1RM - Bench - 400 lbs
    • 1RM - Deadlift - 425 lbs
    • 1RM - Press - 225 lbs
    • Lose 30 lbs

    I am:
    • 45 years old
    • 5'10 (height)
    • 285 lbs (weight)

    My most recent workloads were:
    • 3x5 - Squat - 225 lbs
    • 3x5 - Bench - 290 lbs
    • 1x5- Deadlift - 310 lbs
    • 3x5 - Press - 150 lbs

I wish everyone good luck and good health as they pursue their individual goals.

To be able to bench press more than you can squat is quite unusual. Have you shown any videos on the technique section?

No, not yet. My son is going to help me with the setup for the video. I have been benching and deadlifting for several years. My max bench has been stuck at 365 for several years now. I haven't squatted since high school and as a result I began the program at a very light weight as a result. I'm not totally comfortable with the squat yet. I'm meeting with a SS coach next week to get advice on form and what not. I'm assuming that I will reach a plateau / peak on the BR, MP, and DL somewhat before the squat and I will have to do some type of modification. However, I'm not sure of how to go about that modification should it be necessary.

You are following a sensible plan. SS coaching is the best there is. BTW are you a transplanted New Yorker or a transplanted Texan?
