Starting Over
I'm 38 years old (39 in a couple of weeks) and the last time I competed in powerlifting was 11/1/2014, and I hit a raw PR total of 1500 with 560/370/570.
YouTube
Long story short, I haven't been lifting weights seriously since spring of 2015. I've done some things with kettlebells and dumbells, etc. But nothing that amounts to anything.
So tomorrow I'm starting over. I just bought some new equipment so I can lift seriously again. It was delivered today and I just finished assembling it this evening.
I'm just going to do basic Starting Strength for however long it takes. I'd really like to get back into competing in the next year or so to give myself something to shoot for.

Week 1 Workout 1
^ Thanks guys.
First workout tonight with my 16 year old son.
I could have done a lot more, but I just want to start with lot of momentum to move up. For my son, it was about learning the techniques.

75x5 3 sets
Bench Press
45x5
65x5
115x5 3 sets

I'm going to try to post pictures of my new garage gym. I'm very happy with the sturdiness of it all. The barbell is a Rogue B&R bad, and most of the rest is Titan Fitness.

Thanks guys. I'm so happy with the equipment. I'm sure I'll be buying from Titan again.
I bought two more mats to give myself a dedicated 6x8 foot spot for deadlifts, power cleans and olympic lifts (which I also enjoy, so I'll be getting back into that pretty soon too). I've never competed, but I'd like to at some point when I get back into the swing of things.

Week 1 Workout 2
Like Wednesday, I could have done a whole lot more, but I'm four years detrained (and fat), so I'm trying to take it easy and build momentum so I don't hurt myself.

No rush at all mate. Slow and steady. Just restarted (kind of) myself. Was always tempting to go crazy every session haha. But now 8 weeks in i am happy i did not!

There's just pretty much no way I'm not going to be going out to the garage on the weekends to do some olympic lifting. So if that means people will be telling me I'm not doing the program, so be it.
I used to be so fluid and coordinated from twenty years of lifting. Now I look like an old, fat guy trying to learn how to lift weights again (which I am).
