Supposed to be Intensity Day, but Julie's bad sick and quite uncomfortable/in pain all around. She agreed it was important to get the session in, even though neither of us expected she'd hit her ID targets, so we went to the gym anyway and titrated as we could.

    Squat: 130x5

    Bench: 86x4 (4PR!)

    Press: 55x1, 0, 0

    Deadlift: 185x1x2

Surprisingly, Julie hit her target fahve. It was the only lift she was able to perform at full capacity.

Bench would've been a lifetime 5PR if she'd hit it, but she ground out a miss on the 5th. Still: Benching a PR quad when you're sick as a dog is a pretty good bad day.

Press single: Target was 57x1x3, but she was already slowing down at 45 so I shaved some weight to 55. First one came up in 3 seconds; 2 additional attempts didn't clear her forehead, but she gave each a full 5-second push. Girl's got heart.

Deadlift: 185 was supposed to be a warm-up single on the way to 195, but the warmup single took 6 seconds to come up, so I had her rest 4 minutes and pull the 185 again. Second one came up in 2.9 seconds; probably she could have grabbed more singles at that weight but I could tell she was feeling pretty beaten up all around so I threw in the towel for her.

Gotta say: I'm proud of her for sticking through.

    Not Conducted due to illness.

Oh well. Maybe Friday we'll get her in for some squats and benches and deads and titrate as able.

After losing time to illness, doing some LP again.

    Squat: 110x5x3

    Bench: 80x5x3

    Deadlift: 175x5

Another LP session. Might get back to VD/ID template after this, depending on how Tuesday's warmup looks.

    Squat: 115x5x3

Bench: 85x1, 92.5x1 (PR!), 95x1 (PR!) Video of 95lbs at Geoffrey Bischoff on Instagram: “Julie's having a better week than I am! Lifetime bench PR at 95lbs. Proud of her! #22000lbs4johnson #22miles4johnson #weights #wendler531…”

    Deadlift: 180x5

Mostly LP with some bench shenanigans. She's got to go in without me on Friday, which she hates to do (men come up to her and tell her not to bend over so much in the squat; nobody does that to me but her, all day). I set her a "Light Day" regimen that if she follows should allow us to swing back for some progress on Tuesday next.

    Squat: 121x5x3 (V15 PR!)

Julie was about to do 120, but I asked her if she was feeling cheeky. We added a couple 1/2lb micros to the bar to hit 121 and make it a V15 PR.

    Press: 55x5x3

    DL: 155x5x3 (V15 PR!)

And some volume work on the deadlift. A good day for her today.

    Squat: 115x5x5

Back to a VD/ID model here. Aiming for a 135x5 ID target on Friday.

    Bench: 77.5x5x5 (V25PR!)

    Same with bench: VD/ID

    DL: 160x5x3 (V15 PR!)

My extrapolated/synthesized understanding between SSBBT3 and PPST3 is that women can do more volume, at a higher %, on the DL than a man generally can. So we're LPing some 3-set deadlifts for a bit to get some (hopefully hypertrophic) volume on these.

A great day for Julie today. She fought for her last 2 reps in squat and bench. Video at Geoffrey Bischoff on Instagram: “A day of PRs for Julie: Squat 132.5x5 (5PR!) and Bench 87.5x5 (5PR). Great work! Texas Method for the win. #22000lbs4johnson…”

    Volume Squat: 115x5x5

    Intensity Deadlift: 175x1, 195x1, 205x1 (Lifetime Single PR!) Video at Geoffrey Bischoff on Instagram: “205x1. Lifetime PR for Julie! SDG #22000lbs4johnson #22miles4johnson. #weights #wendler531 #teamssoc #texasmethod #teambloc…”

Keeping VD weights on squat/bench static until ID load climbs a bit more. Deadlift singles went well.
