    Wk 32, 9/14/20, 10am, w/ partner

    Squat (155) 5, 5, 5

    Bench 531 Cycle 4A
    95, 165, 215, 235
    (270) 5, (255) 5, 5, 5

    Wtd Chins (60) 5, 5, 5

    Cascade park bike loop 8:58

Coffee only breakfast didn't work very well. Still hit all of my numbers.

Squats - Though I have been having shoulder issues at heavier weights (275+), i decided to put these back in there so I don't lose all strength in core and legs. When I get up there again. I will decide what i am going to do. Shoulders and wrists are the issue.

Bench - I will keep saying that for me on the 5-3-1 program, the "5" day is the hardest by about 20%. Today we started adding the 3rd set to our back off sets. This will mean adding 3 sets to the entire program cycle of 2 weeks. We had 5 minute rest between sets 3 and 4. I am hoping that this "small" change will bring about easy lifts on triple and single days. I am confident it will.

Chins - Tough, I have reset back a ways, just because I wanted to. I am happy at what I have done and what I can do. When these feel great again I will make a strong move back up to 75-80.

    Warm up

    Press 95, 115, 135
    (155) 5, 2, 2, (95) 8, 8

    Volume Dead - 135, 185, 225
    (280) 5, 5, 5

    Tire Drag (90) 120' x 5, 1:1 (W:R)

Press, 5RM PR, Super tough today. Might be time for a sight program change. Heavy with back off sets.

Volume Deads, these went well, will perform heavy on friday with this same number for back off sets.

Tire Drag, these sucked, nearly puked. Cardio is terrible because it is not my goal.

    Warm up

    Squat (175) 5, 5, 5

    Bench 531 Cycle 4B
    115, 185, 235, 255
    (290) 2, (255) 5, 5, 5

    Deads - 135, 205, 275
    (380) 2, (225) 5, 5, 5

    ISO DB Snatch (25) x 5, 1:1 (WR)

    Strange day.
Didn't realize how tired my grip was from the other day until this morning. Effected Bench and Dead.

Bench - 1st failed lift in 8 weeks on this movement. Not to upset. Usually I reserve my "Competition" Grip for top set. Today I wanted to see if i could use my "Strength Building" grip on the 290 and didn't make it. Tired grip + strength grip was probably the reason. Use "S" grip for 290 and then 1st set of back offs, tough and tired. Then switched to "C" grip for remaining sets and they threw off my chest.

Deads - Since grip was tired didn't expect much here. Happy for 2 reps at 380, 1RM is 385, so on a good day should be able to blow past that.
