    Default NLP (Part Deux)

    Male, 46 yrs, 215 lb, 6' tall.

Back doing an NLP after some time off. I've lost some strength but that's ok. I want to see how strong I can get before I have to start eating like a pig. I basically want to see where my genetics end, and have to start changing my diet.

One major improvement has been with the power cleans. My knees used to hurt from the stomping motion of the second part of the lift. It feels like the cartalige in my knees has toughened up.

Below is where I keep track of my lifts. NLP Started in November and that was really a warm up month. Weights are just now feeling heavy. Just added back Cleans and chins. I'll most likely do some 10 lb. jumps on my Deads. They are still too easy.

I've been having general shoulder pain but has been getting better with exercise. Just a ache in the right shoulder. I can massage out the pain with and indexknobber.

    Matthew Spicka - Strength Level

    I'm on day 2.

    Squat 240#
    Bench 195#
    Dead 300#

    Day 3 -

    Squat 245#
    Press 127.5#
    Clean 125#
    Chins, assisted 5, 7, 7

Everything feels great. Weights going up smoothly. Still getting the technique of the cleans.

What I have noticed from my first round of learning cleans... my knee joints no longer feel any pain from the jump. This is a big deal!

    Day 1 - after Christmas break 219.4#

    Squat 275#
    Bench 205#
    Dead 330#
    Chins 5, 10, 6, - these are 50 lb assisted.
    Chins 5 - non assisted.

Should have DL 335 or 340... made a mistake. Need to always double check your work... I write everything down on a piece of paper before my workout so I know exactly what I need to do.

Shoulder feels better after a few days off and I am not going to power clean for this week and possibly next. I believe is is aggravating my shoulder. I'm still running in the 90% healed, just trying to get that last 10%.
