Missed Sunday due to his school work, so this will be a 2-session week.

Squat: 300x5x3 (5PR, Sets Across PR)
Bench: 235x4 (4PR), 205x5x2
Tim's had time away from the bar, but hasn't been sleeping great, and the bench really shows his mental fatigue. If he'd slotted rep 4 correctly, he'd not have wasted as much energy, and rep 5 likely would've come up. As it stands: Tim's gotten about as much movement out of bench LP as he's likely to get, so we're moving to a TM variant for upper body work starting next week.
Deadlift: 335x5 (5PR!)
A day of PRs, despite a missed rep.

Tim's LP v2.0, W8D1
Another 2-session week expected, and same for next week. We're going to transition to Texas Method intermediate over the next two weeks while he's managing vacations and such with his family. Could he grind himself into the ground continuing LP? Yeah. But it's been 21 weeks or something, counting the COVID shutdown, and he's just ready to try something different. My guess is that 6 months from now, Tim would be at about the same strength level whether we run the LP into the dirt, or move to TM now. So ... we'll give him (and me) the psychological break from LP. Probably will start a new "Tim's Log" over in Intermediate Country some time mid-July.
So ... MOCK MEET DAY! Video of top singles at Login • Instagram
Squat: 315x5 (5PR), 335x1 (PR!) 355 (PR!!) 370 (PR!!!)
When Tim got to the gym, his best single was 315. His best triple was also 315. He was supposed to do sets across at 310 but ... whatevs. So he took 315 for a ride, and then took ascending singles. Result: +55LB to his heaviest squat ever.
Bench: 255x1 (PR), 260x1 (PR!)
Deadlift: 350x1, 375x1 (PR!)
Some of the load choices on this were because Tim really, really wanted to hit the 1k club today. Well ... 1005 in the books, so he got it. He was walking on air when he left the gym. Might be bed-ridden tomorrow, lol ...
Thanks from Tim! Sadly right after this he had a layoff for vacation, so today was his first day back in the gym.
Pivot Week, D1
Only 1 day in his Pivot Week since he already got a vacation to Texas.
Squat: 320x5 (PR!)
Bench: 232.5x2
Supposed to be for 5; he didn't have it today.
Deadlift: 340x5 (PR!)
So this basically ended up being a TM intensity day. Next week, Tim's starting a 3day Texas Method; Monday is expected to be Volume Day. Might log that workout over in Intermediate Country, after a wrap-up post here just to mark overall progress and remarks from the LP.
Shutting it down, boys.
We're calling this the end of Novice country.
Just started an Intermediate log over at Tim's Intermediate Log
