    Tim's LP, W9D2

Tim did Light Day on everything, at the Army gym. Our regular gym is closed for Coronavirus.

    Squat: 225x5x2

    Press: 120x5x3

    A sets across PR here.

    Bench: 185x5x3

    Tim's LP, W9D3

    Squat: 285x5x3

+5 for sets across. The Army gym we have to use right now doesn't have safety pins, and Tim was a bit scared of set 3, but luckily there was a dude there to spot the bar with me. It came up just fine.

Bench: 225x3, 185x5x2 Video of top set at Geoffrey Bischoff on Instagram: “Tim with 225x3. 3PR! In an undisclosed Army dungeon. SDG! #22000lbs4johnson #22miles4johnson #weights #wendler531 #teamssoc #texasmethod…”

Tim's previous top single is now a triple. Things are still moving nicely.

    Deadlift: 255x3x3

The cue Tim needs is "stay over the bar." After some DL struggles recently, these came up just fine. Going to LP some 3x3 for awhile to get him some challenging but not crushing pulling volume.

    Press: 140x2

+2.5. Heaviest press Tim's ever touched, and he doubled it. He tried for three but failed. I told him this was the line what would make us go to A-B-A on his pressing movements, so we're moving to sets across on only one upper body movement now (you know ... basic LP). The fact that Tim made it 9 weeks doing press and bench on the same day is pretty cool. Let's see how much more LP he's got now that we start alternating.

    Not Conducted: Illness in family.

Bodyweight not measured: No scale available.

Nothingburger. Neither of us have access to a reliable scale with the main gym closed, so we're flying blind on that metric.

    Light Squat: 225x5x2

In the Army dungeon again. Tim's hips are all squared away, but his knee hurts now. He suspects it's from the chiropractor, who did an excellent job on his hips but has now transferred stress to the knee. I don't know. We're hoping it subsides.

    Bench: 205x5x3

Sets across PR on the bench. We'll press next, and aim for a new sets-across target there as well.

    Deadlift: 260x3x3

These are looking massively better at the reduced weight and increased volume. We'll keep LPing the 3x3 for now.

    Barbell Curl: 55x8x3

Because why not. Time to get some curls in.

    Squat: 290x5, 5, 2

In the Dungeon again. Tim thought he had sets across, but didn't. Luckily he had spotters (me and another Army dude) because there are no safety pins in the Dungeon. A new 5PR though, and we'll stick religiously to top-and-drop for the duration now.

    Press: 125x5x3

    A sets-across PR for 5s. Good show.

    Deadlift: 265x3x3

+5 on the 3x3. Tim's confidence is increasing, and his back-setting is getting better in response to more practice of the movement.

    BW: Still not reported

    Squat: 295x4, 245x5x2

So Tim got a 4PR. Me and the other spotter had to pull rep 5 off of him. Tim reports poor eating; it was apparently a lot easier to eat a lot when he wasn't having to do it out of his own fridge.

    Bench: 235x1

10 lb PR for Tim. I saw his fatigue in the squat, and figured bench would be crap, so rather than volume I figured he had one good single in him, and he did. Called it here, and told him to get back to eating.

    Deadlift: 270x0, 3

Tim couldn't even break the bar from the floor on the first try; came back after a rest and did a strong 3 that looked quite easy.

Tim needs to eat! We should be back at it Friday.

    Another Day in the Dungeon

    BW: 194. (-5)

As expected, without easy access to the burrito truck, Tim's lost some weight.

    Squat: 300x3, 225x5

Tim crushed his top set, but had to back off more than expected on drop-set due both to available time, and to lingering knee pain.

    Press: 142.5x1 (PR!), 125x5x2

Still adding weight to the bar.

    Deadlift: 270x3x3

These came up super-easy today. If Tim eats and sleeps, we're going to take some 7.5lb jumps as recovery allows.

Another top triple. Next session, Tim should 3-rep his current single-PR.

    Press: 130x3x5

    Triples across.

    Deadlift: 285x3x3

Another 3x3 at a 7.5 bump. By next week at this rate we should have a new top triple.

    Barbell Curl: 56x8x3

Aaaand some curls for the gurls.

LP continues in the Army dungeon. Woot.
