    Default Restarting (again) after lockdown

    • starting strength seminar april 2024
    • starting strength seminar jume 2024
    • starting strength seminar august 2024
    Before lockdown
    Age 44, 13st 4, 5ft 8
    Squat 115kg 3x5
    Deadlift 165kg 3x5
    Press 57.5kg 3x5
    Bench 85kg 3x5

18 weeks of no training and lots of whisky drinking (sooo pissed off). The gym finally opened on Sat.
    1st session
    Squat 60kg 1x5
    Press 30kg 3x5
    Deadlift 75kg 1x5
Could not have gone 2.5kg heavier and have trained again today as the next day doms was almost crippling.
    Today
    Squat 65kg 3x5
    Bench 47.5kg 3x5
    Clean 40kg 3x5
Managed to push through the pain. Squat form was horrible, easy on the ascent but the descent was awful hamstring cramping.
Food and showered feel good now.
    Hate this covid bollocks.

Bollocks is a good word for this lock down. Are you required to wear a mask in your gym and wash frequently?

Keep at it. Never give up.

Hand sanitizer on entry, limited capacity, changing rooms open but no showers (?). No mask required but have to clean and sanitise equipment and area after use (paper towels and spry) Nothing too draconian or petty.
    Glad to be back.
Only minor doms today so back in tomorrow.

Meant to go sat, but no gym shutdown for 48hr deep clean for a suspected covid case.
Suspected !? Gah life does like to mess with a restart.

    Squat 75kg 3x5
    Press 35kg 3x5
Deadlift 2 warm-up sets and bailed

Time.to fix squat form realised.that in order to get under.the bar I was rolling my shoulders forward due to shoulder inflexibility. So focused on keeping upper.back straight (thoracic extension).
Good god the strain was awful. Didnt ho up on press felt right traps tensing and cramping. And deadlift was blitzed after 2 warm up sets. Think the squat shoes I wore for the 1st time didn't help and it stifling in gym no air con. Roll.on sat

Just curious. Do you know why you bailed on the deadlift?

    Hi Carson.
I think it was fatigue and lack of bodycondition as it didn't happen today.
