Squat: 290x5, 295x5, 305x5 (5PR!)
Seth's shoes came in. This is his first time squatting without having to fight with squishy shoes. After his first set at 290 (a 5PR), I added weight, twice. 305 is a good place to start from now.
Deadlift: 385x5 (5PR!)
So we'd have done 375 today, but with the added stability of his new non-squishy shoes, we added 15 instead of 5.
Good lift for Seth today.

Bench: 265x5 (5PR!), 225x5x2
These are slowing down. When we do bench next, I'll load 270 and ask for 5 but hope for 3.
Press: 160x3 (3PR!), 135x5x2
Seth tried for 5, but crapped out on rep 4. Going to load 162.5 next time we're in. Today was his first press session in his lifting shoes, and he had some wobbles as he figured out his new stance. His backoffs at 135 were solid and moved quickly and in-slot; it's possible he'll have 162.5 for 5 on Thursday, but if not, I'm betting 3 reps is a lock for sure.

Squat: 315 (5PR!), 275x5x2
Gambled on a +10, and it moved smoothly. Good gamble. +5 for Friday should be a lock.
Deadlift: 395x4 (4PR!)
Gambled on a +10, and this one didn't happen. Grip problems; Seth lost grip on rep 5 and couldn't lock it out. He got like ... 4.96 reps. It was disheartening; he really was about 1.5 inches from full lockout. I think I've reached the edge of his grip capability more than his overall structure capability, so we'll train some grip coming up, in the following way:
Friday, take 395 for a ride again, and see if he's adapted favorably to today's stress. Next week: Go to only one "heavy" deadlift session per week, with the other session being 2x5 at a lighter but meaningful weight. Maybe 335 for him to start, dunno yet.

Press: 162.5x5 (5PR!), 135x5x2
Press first today, and a new 5rep top set. Good times.
Bench: 270x5 (5PR!), 230x5x2
270 moved slow, but it moved better than 265 did. I think we might have 275 for 5 next week.

Indeedy. Seth is moving along quite well. Not sure how many more weeks of training I get with him before he'll need to prioritize some weight loss/conditioning for his next position. But for now, full speed ahead.

Press: 165x5 (5PR), 135x5x2
Easy.
Bench: 275x4 (4PR), 235x5x2
Couldn't get rep 5 up on the 275. Could be due to poor equipment (we were in my least favorite gym on FLW today), though, so ... I'll think through what we'll do Thursday. Soon, though, we'll have to rotate bench/press to a heavy/light model. Very soon.

Squat: 320x5 (5PR), 280x5x2
Deadlift: 395x5
Smoked that deadlift this time. Still: Moving to every other session for heavy pull; I'm thinking Friday's deadlift will be 2x5@325.

Press: 170x5 (5PR!), 185x1 (PR!)
Upper-body lifts protocol will now be a volume/intensity setup; took some intensity PRs in press today.
Bench: 235x5x5 (V25 PR)
25 reps at 235 ... hopefully this drives adaptation leading to a 275 set of 5 next week.

Missed some logging ... also, missed last workout of last week due to inclement weather.
4DLP, W9D1
Bench: 275x5 (5PR!)
Press: 145x5x5
Got the 275 for 5 today. Good times. Some press volume as well.
4DLP, W9D2
Squat: 325x5 (5PR!), 285x5x2
Deadlift: 400x3x2 (3PR)
Moving along nicely. When we tested singles before Christmas, Seth hit 325 for a single ... a month later, he took that weight for 5. Going well all around.

Behind on logging again...
4DLP, W9D2
Press (Intensity): 175x5 (5PR!)
Bench (Volume): 235x5x5
Uppers still moving well.
4DLP, W9D4
Squat: 330x5 (5PR!)
Heaviest squat ever ... and he took it for 5.
Deadlift: 405x5 (5PR!)
Thought we were going to have to start doing triples, and cycling intensity on deadlift, but not yet. Seth had 405 readily under his command this session.
