Gonna get weird this week and next. Hell, it might be weird with Seth from here on out; as he gets closer to his move there will be things that come up. But today was pretty standard.

    Deadlift: 425x3 (3PR!), 365x5

+10 on the last triple we did.

    Squat: 275x5x5

    Just tagging some volume here.

    Deadlift (Volume): 375x5x2

    Squat: 315x5x3, 295x5x2

    Volume day.

Seth is supposed to get some volume in on benches and presses this weekend as his "Day 4." Haven't heard back from him on that yet.

Seth did some upper body volume over Easter break; only one session. Today was first day of the week for us; we probably will only get 3 sessions. Made today a good one.

    4DLP, W19D1

    Squat: 435x1 (PR!), 445x1 (PR!)

Seth bumped his squat PR up 20lbs today.

    Deadlift: 465x1 (PR!)

And a 10lb PR on Deadlift as well.

So look ... I don't know how many more sessions I get with Seth, and neither does he. He's in that gray area where Army orders are bouncing around at HRC, and he's got a tentative report day, but doesn't know how far the left-push is on his departure. So we're going to be touch-and-go, and sometimes I'm just gonna have him reach for a PR, based on available time and "how he feels" when he shows up. Today it paid off with a PR bench single.

    Press: 135x8x3

Wanted him to get some volume work quickly; did this with 2-minute rests and he crushed it.

He's killing it, man. He's also nearly done at Fort Leonard Wood; I think I may have 6 more sessions with him, total. And then he's going to have a gap in reliable training for 6-8 weeks while he moves and gets situated. So I'm starting to plan a way forward for him, hoping that he'll stick with it.

Still managed to squeak out a PR though, today.

    Squat: 405x3 (3PR!), 365x3x3

    Barbell Row: 185x8x3

After the squats, went with a lighter pull. Friday, we'll hit something heavier on pull, lighter on squats.

Capstone on Seth's training with me at Fort Leonard Wood. We'll have some more sessions, but he's got to switch focus to other things, so I don't expect more PRs. As he transitions to more pure conditioning work for awhile, and moves house, et cetera, et cetera, we'll be aiming at losing as little strength as possible, so that when he has time to focus on lifting again, he can crush it quickly.

A good last day of "real" training, though:

Yes, you read it right. 500 on the deadlift ... which means Seth hit all the "sticker weights" (200/300/400/500) on this training cycle.

    Woot.

Yessir; Seth had a really good run. He's doing a gap-filler lifting program while he concentrates conditioning now. I'm bottling this log up here. Seth dun good.

This dropped today. I'll let it stand as a capstone to this log.
