Another good workout day. (Knock on wood)

Still working my high bar to low bar flexibility. Still using the tubow.

I think I’m setting my lower back better in deadlifts. The cue that seems to work for me is to give the neighbors the same view their cat gives me. Which also helps lighten my mood for the set.

    Summary
    Tue 4-13-21
    Body 216.1
    Fat 29.8
    Squat 145 (w/mobility sets)
    Press 85
    Deadlift 180
    Pull-ups 3x10 (drag downs)
    Hill climb too late

And maybe another at bedtime so I can get some good rest.

Well, how I know is I don't STAY "numb."
How you really feel, just hit me in the funny bone. Remember being young enough you couldn't conceive of back pain?
I wasn't making fun of you.

Oh no, not at all. All good.
    Yup those were the days.
Now I look down and see a scratch or bruise and say, how’d that happen.
Or in the middle of the day notice an ache, and wonder what in the world I did to tweak that.

Default 60 yr old Day One

So today marks my second month.
This month brought further gains, additional daily side benefits (some unexpected). And also my first stall.

I continued jumping 10lb each on my squats and deadlifts. The squats got to 165 by grinding every rep of the 3x5, even the first. And this was pre TUBOW, so my lower back was complaining most sets.
    Deadlifts suffered as well.
So I reset both to 80% and 5lb jumps. So far this is doing good.

    Daily side effects, benefits really:
I can sleep on my back without my bony shoulder blades making my arms go to sleep.
My legs don’t go to sleep reading on the toilet any more. A 30 year thing, gone. Poof, all better.
My heals don’t bother me barefoot anymore. Another 30 year thing. I wore cowboy boots on the concrete flight line one summer, my heals had hurt ever since. I wore slippers in the house, took slippers to friends houses. All so my heals wouldn’t kill me.
20 years ago I stepped in a hole running to catch a softball. My thigh hurt so much I thought I’d barf. Ever since it has been kinda numb/tingly if I stood still too long. So I would sit or pace around. (I’ve had an MRI/CAT scan, whatever. No spine issues). Anyway, that is better too. To be sure I stood through all the long, long prayers at church, singing too. All good.
I can touch my toes!! I haven’t been able to do this since at least 20 years.

This is life changing stuff! No really.
Some I’m not surprised, they’re obviously due to getting more muscle. But touch my toes? I haven’t been stretching, just doing my deadlifts. Who knew?
My heals? I don’t know. Maybe they’re getting used to more weight, so just me is nothing? Or maybe I’m standing less on my heals and more on the ball of my foot? Maybe that.

    So now I’m convert 2.0

    Last month’s summary
    Body 212.3
    Fat 28
    Squat 135
    Bench 110
    Press 75
    Deadlift 200

    Today’s summary
    Tue 4-20-21
    Body 217.2
    Fat 29.2
    Squat 160 (w/mobility sets)
Bench 130 (slooow last rep, time lapse photography slow)
    Press 87.5 (prior workout)
    Deadlift 190
    Pull-ups 3x10 (drag downs)
    Hill climb too late

Yes it is. I’m very pleasantly surprised at some of this.
