    8-30-21 (lost track again)

    By early afternoon my right side was getting pretty sore, I assume from my 6am squats. Don’t know what I did. Didn’t hurt during squats.
    Sometimes I get sore then better, sometimes sore then worse…

    Anyway, for deadlifts at 3pm the soreness had set in real good. My last warmup double was 230, I only got one. Came up fine, but I didn’t have the nerve to keep going.

    Well I was upping my squats to find when it would hurt too much. I was sure the heavy squats were the culprit. But after 215x3 still had some gas and didn’t hurt too bad.
    Then I had to go pick up my son. Oooh, it hurts after, real nice. Yup maybe the squats.

    I did manage to put my plates away by myself. Then slept in the recliner.

    I need to learn how to see these things coming before they set me back…

    Oh well, each comeback sets a couple PRs, so there’s that.

    Yesterday’s deadlifts didn’t bother me today, and I actually feel a little better.

    Today’s press didn’t seem to bother anything.

    Still sleeping and napping in the recliner.

    Didn’t seem to bother me.

    Took a nap in bed on my back, yes!

    Tomorrow I’ll try a whole workout at 50% squats and deadlift, close to normal on press and chins. Maybe.

    This was not too bad, felt my back in the deadlifts some.

    Update, Thu 9-9. Was planning to work out. But my back/side seems to be getting a little worse. I’m not sure why. But I moved from the recliner to the bed. And in bed on my back, I’m fairly sore, but if I don’t move at all, I can sleep. Maybe too soon?
    I’m going back to the recliner.
    I’ll see how I feel tomorrow or Saturday. I want to be holding my own, or a tiny bit better as I up my workout weights.

    Back from business trip last night.
    Did an empty bar “workout” of the four lifts before bed. Side pain was maybe 2 out of 10, only getting up off the bench and top of deadlifts (65lbs).
    So that is real good.

    Plan now is to add 20 and 10 lbs to the big and little lifts each time, and hope the recovery stays ahead of the weights.

    back/side soreness can be from so many things. I think I need a new pillow, as I'm getting a little sore neck at night...but that neck pain is also probably linked to commuting again back into NY 3 days per week on a bus. Fun times
