Julie picked a 3/wk schedule that she thinks is going to work out for her. Here's hoping.
I'm trying the descending reps thing again, hoping to actually take it all the way down to triples for volume. These longer sets are for some work capacity building. She's kitten-weak right now after a year that's included 40lbs of weight loss (down to 130 now), and two unrelated hospitalizations.
Idea is to bench and press both sessions (but only 2 sets each) until it becomes necessary to alternate the upper body volume.

Side note; I neglected to mention that last week, Julie had a 4th and (Lord willing) final surgery to correct the issue that hospitalized her in mid-2021. The fact that she lifted on 3-20 (3 days post-op) is a glorious testimony to God's mercy: This surgery was so free of complication that she was basically "on point" within 24 hours.

Titrating set-length down; Julie's responded well to this post-hospital "LP lite," and we're gonna start doing something that looks more like "The Program."

Wanted to see the top set of 8 since she reported on the 25th that she'd failed the second set. Sho' nuff, it was slow and grindy after 5 reps. So ... we're on fahves for bench.

Might be able to go to the 8-rep cookie jar another 1 to 4 times on deadlift still.
