JC tries LP
JC is a junior enlisted man in my battalion who has joined us for some session.
He is age 21, 69 inches, 170 lbs, with no lifting experience of any kind. He's a hobbyist at cycling, working up to completing a Century (currently at 40 miles for PR); he runs when the Army makes him; he does general Army-ish PT when required.
JC has the single worst natural proprioception I have ever seen in an adult human.
He's under my direct control, so he'll train whenever I tell him to. But our battalion has had a lot of ceremonial requirements recently with changes of command, Army Birthday, Regiment Birthday, and other mandatory early-morning "celebrations."
I don't know how much I can do with this guy, but we're gonna make a go of it. So far:
Squat:
45x5x3, 65x5x3
Two squat sessions so far. No lifting experience so everything's a PR.
Deadlift: 75x5x2, 95x5
Two sessions.
Press:
45x5x3, 65x5x3, 70x5x3
Three sessions.
Bench Press:
65x5x3, 75x5x3, 85x5x3
Three sessions.

Recruitment continues, seems like you're building something of an *ahem*, army, out there... good luck JC!

Yep! Slowly but surely. JC is dedicated, but our schedules haven't matched as much as I thought they would. Unlike Dov (whom I can set free on his own with a Rx at this point), JC still needs lots of form work.
Some missed sessions. Calling this Week Two. Only two sessions to get in this week.
Squat: 75x5x3
Lots of valgus knee. Lack of coordination more than lack of strength at this small weight. But this +10 was a smoke show.
Deadlift: 105x5

4DLP, W3D1
Holiday weekend and other duties stepping on this training cycle a bit. Also, JC is taking leave starting Thursday ...
Squat: 85x5x3
Deadlift: 115x5
+10 each, and movement pattern's looking better all the time.
